It's taken me a while to write an "About Me" section because I just never knew what to say. What should I focus on? What would fellow anime/manga fans want to know about me? My first anime? (FYI, Sailor Moon.) My anime pet peeve? (If I thought about it, it would probably involve moe, that parasitic aspect that's sucking the life out of the anime industry as we know it -- I kid, I kid.) The reason why I drop/put on hold so many anime and finish so few? (I get bored. Very easily.)
As for me personally...I'm a writer who looks to anime/manga when I feel tapped dry of creative vibrance. What do I do when I can't muster up the will to create? I wait out the tide and watch anime/read manga (well, mostly the latter). It works like a charm...eventually.

Favorite Anime of the Moment: Aku no Hana
I still don't know quite how to articulate my feelings about Aku no Hana. On the one hand, my adoration of it doesn't make sense: I loathed what little of the manga I read, and I had no intention of watching the anime adaptation until I read a few positive opinions about the series that piqued my interest. On the other hand, I know exactly why, for me, the anime works a lot better than the manga: the whole package -- the visuals, the acting, the mood and atmosphere of each episode, the music -- seeks to enhance the studies of these teen characters and what makes them tick. Overall, I'm just really impressed and enamored with this anime (so far).
Favorite Manga of the Moment: All My Darling Daughters by Fumi Yoshinaga
I'm not such a big Fumi Yoshinaga fan (though I may get there someday), but this collection of subtly connected stories really made me see why Yoshinaga is such a lauded name in the mangasphere. The precarious relationships between mothers and daughters, the insecurities and fears women carry (no matter their ages), the tides of life that may take us far from where we ever imagined we'd be -- Yoshinaga tackles all these things (and more) with a poignancy that I haven't felt in a manga in a long time (if ever). I've already read through this one twice, and I foresee many more rereads in my future.

If you think we have something in common, then feel free to send a friend request. I don't bite (though I might politely disagree with you in a discussion). Happy anime-watching/manga-reading!
