Mugi is a chubby girl with a kind spirit and beautiful smile. She is comfortable with her weight, but thought that she would never have the opportunity to fall in love. When she meets Tagami, a boy who is a "pochama," or someone who likes soft and squishy things, love has a chance to blossom, and Mugi comes to realize that she loves herself as is.

Volume 2: Anata Jikan

Story: Very unique if going by the romance between a "chubby" girl and chubby maniac. It's not a pairing you often see in Asian comics as the majority of the homogenous cultures is very slim and an interest for seeing "heavier" sizes in shoujo is relatively low.

Art: The art is nothing special, but the lines are clean and the characters are cute. You can actually tell all of the characters apart, from our leading characters to the minor, one-page characters. It's not avant garde by any means, but is pleasing to the eye.

It's a one of a kind that gives you warm fuzzy feelings. It's about a relationship between an unlikely couple that ends up leaving you feel happy and with a smile.

It's truly rare to find a Shojou manga about a protagonist who has a "considerable" amount of weight and a love life; which is why I give Pochamani many high marks.

The usual pretty/average girl meeting and falling in love with the guy does not happen here. Instead we have Tsumugi, the female protagonist whom is a "chubby girl" that is always happy. Her refreshing aura shocks those around her because of her physical figure. Tagami, the male lead also known as the "chubby maniac", is quite the unnatural character. He can only, and I repeat ONLY, love chubby women.
