I'm Malwave but you can call me Mal, or Alice! I've loved anime ever since I was 5 years old. And now at 30 my interest is still going strong. I also like Music, Video games, VR Chat, and Overwatch.

Favorite Anime and studios

Favorite Anime: Made in Abyss. I love its incredible soundtrack, the beautifully crafted world, and the deep, likable characters. The story has plenty of mystery, great pacing, and emotional moments, and I love the art style and overall vibe.

Best Anime: Mob Psycho 100 nothing else comes close. The animation is stunning, the art is striking, and the writing is phenomenal. Every element of what makes a story “great” is here, from the very first episode to the tearjerking finale. It’s a masterpiece in both presentation and storytelling.

Favorite Studios: Studio Trigger and Kyoto Animation

Favorite Genres: I like all genres, but I love drama, and fantasy, as well as comedy, and battle shounen when done right.

Favorite Era: While I enjoy and try to keep up with modern anime, as well as culture myself with 80s anime, absolutely nothing hits me as hard as the cheese fest that it the 90's and 2000s. just something about it...and the dubs are incredible LOL.

And some of my favorite Music Genres: Metalcore, Speedcore, Breakcore, Vaporwave, Experimental, All types of rock and Metal, Shoegaze, EDM, Anime music, Video game OSTs, Jpop, Vocaloid, Touhou, and honestly just about everything else.

I'm somewhat loose with my ratings, I don't like to give low scores, so my scores are on the higher side, If I complete a show that means i've enjoyed it at least a little bit, so I will rarely score completed series less than 6. If I drop a show, it just means it's not holding my interest, and will commonly be scored 6 or lower. My personal enjoyment of a series is the main criteria I base my scores on, however I do take "objective quality" into account a little bit. Here's a guide to what my ratings roughly mean.

10: Absolute favorite. Strong connection. Must discuss.

9: Great enjoyment. Near-perfect for me.

8: Very good. Recommend to fellow otaku.

7: Good. Recommend to people who enjoy similar shows.

6: Fine/average. Just good enough to finish.

5: Had issues enjoying it; average or boring.

4–3: Didn’t enjoy much; lower-tier boredom.

2: Poor. Low enjoyment.

1: Waste of time, offensive, or poorly made continuation/remake.
