Re:Zero: Yeah, exactly. I don't exactly fault the studios for doing that, but now that I have read a few light novels, I understand the stigma with fans about shitty adaptations of them, not that Re:Zero was one but I understand the general consensus.

I think their relationship felt much more genuine in the Light novel (and web novel), the anime managed to get the point across but it's the little instances between them that I think really cemented their relationship (although many also theorize that Subaru's attraction to Emilia has to do with the his connections to the Envious witch, so in that case it would technical make sense that it was forced).

Brighter than Dawning Blue is rather plain. I've been reading "Dengeki Stryker" more intensively. While I already managed to get 3 routes from the latter, I'm still stuck around the beginning of my first route for the former. So unless you really like plain normal Ren'ai titles or have otherwise too much time, I wouldn't really recommend it.

As far as I've read, the intruders (which had been still unknown at the time I was last reading about it) just managed to get into some unimportant system. But yeah, hacking the grid system is a real threat. The Crimean island suffered an attack if I recall correctly.

Re:Zero: Have you ever read a light novel of an anime you watched before? Have you noticed how the anime cuts down certain conversations like they never happened? Well I'll give an example, the first chapter, where Subaru meets 'Satella' for the first time, has so many more conversations and information that is entirely left out of the anime. The anime skims through it at an incredibly fast pace. But the best example is in the 2nd light novel where Subaru is discussing things with Roswaal after they just met. They talked so much more about politics and Subaru and Emilia had so many more interactions, it foreshadowed Rem and Ram' past, Beatrice and Subaru fought more, and so much more that my head will explode looking for all of it again.
Seriously, anyone who says that Emilia is a trash character needs to read the light novels, she is simply so much cuter and much, much more characterized than the anime. I am not saying that Rem won't be just a good later on, but Emilia deserves much more appreciation.
And yeah it slow but it is still good.

HakoMari: Ok you know Monogatari right? Decrease the fanservice by 100. Decrease the comedy by 200. Add in mystery and ambiguity by 50. Put in a touch of tragic [death]. Add in much more [brackets]. Change the world building (obviously). Make the main character blander, then give him a reason to have that personality and give it it's destructiveness. Place a lot of importance on [time]. Keep the dialogue.
