Both of them are great. The anime does a fantastic job of capturing the dark and dreary atmosphere of the plot, not to mention the anime as a god tier OST. Reading the manga you can kinda control the pacing yourself.

I don't prefer one over the other, so I guess it comes down to your preference of manga vs anime

The more I watch the more confused I am about the time travel stuff. There's no internal logic from what I can tell, it detracts from the story when everything feels contrived in Takemichi's favor. I still like the characters though so it gets a 6 for now.

That’s an unusual one I often get shit for. Once you accept that future diary does not make logical sense, you can analyze the other aspects, like what it’s really about. The parasitic relationship between Yuno and Yuki is at the center, which extends to every relationship in the anime. Almost all the characters are in abusive and/or codependent relationships. It portrays a variety of different kinds, while showcasing what makes them so awful and the disastrous outcomes. Whether or not that makes it good is debatable, but I find it interesting, otherwise it’s just a blast to watch. Like a trainwreck.

It's recommended that you take at least the major UC entries up until CCA chronologically. The best starting points are either the original, or if you just wanna dip your toe in to experience the show's themes in a bite-sized, modern-looking, super stylish form, Thunderbolt is also a good choice.

It's def very dramatic and it has perhaps a slow start. The character writing is impeccable and the attention to detail with the rakugo performances is really cool. The direction is as strong as the bond the two MCs of S1 have. If you don't mind a somewhat slow pace, everything should work out fine for your time here, though your mileage may vary on if you find S2 that extra bit better or a legitimate step down from S1 outside of some spectacular moments. Also, the series has a nice jazz OST.

oh ppl always ask me that so basically i dont drop shows like never and i force myself inot finishing them hoping theyll get better i was sooooo hyped for made in abyss i watched the first 2 eps they were meh for me idk why ig its not my thing but i finished it even tho i disliked the story and the world built and since it didnt get any better i was harsh with it like imagine forcing yourself for 4 hours straight inot watching something u disliked and then it jut ends without making up for the downs of it
i can see why a lot of ppl love it and i respect that but ig its not made for me
