It is very hard to put a numerical score on something where my true opinion is much more complicated. But these numbers should give you a general idea of what I think about a show. If you want to hear my opinions in any more depth, check out my blog/youtube, or just directly ask me.
10: Masterpiece. Not something that is void of any flaws (because nothing is) but a show where the pros greatly outweigh the cons. Things in this category often appeal to me on a deep personal level, usually on a conceptual level, or I have some sentimental attachment to them.
9: One of my favorites, just not an absolute favorite. I will probably continue to think about and re-watch these shows in the future. However, I will always have a feeling that the show could have been better for one reason or another.
8: Shows in my top 100. For shows that I watched and enjoyed greatly, but did not quite stand out enough to get a higher score. These shows often have niche appeal or smaller scope.
7: Shows that I enjoyed watching, but don’t stick out much in my memory.
6. Also something that I overall enjoyed watching, however there was something in it that annoyed me too much. These shows can also not have anything particularly wrong with them but get this score due to them being boring. Any show that I think will be in this category or lower I often end up dropping for being too mediocre.
5: This category has shows that go one of two ways. Either it was the absolute middle of the road with no positive or negative traits. Or the show had both equal positive and negative traits that canceled each other out, often giving me very mixed thoughts about them. This score and lower is also when I feel regret about having watched the show.
4: Officially when shows start being “bad” as in they have more cons then pros. However, I can still see some merit in them and understand why someone would like it.
3: When shows start becoming so bad they are unwatchable.
2: Shows that I personally hate and cause me physical pain to watch. At this point I start to express concern or confusion for the creation process behind them.
1: The exact opposite of a 10. Something that is near void of any merit and something that I hate for personal reasons. The only reason I would finish a show in this category is out of sheer curiosity or if I enjoy hating on the show, but generally “so bad it’s good shows” get a positive rating.
Also if its not obvious, I’m not an absolute authority, if you like something I don’t or vice versa that is fine. I’m also prone to change my mind about things very often.
It’s also worth noting that all my scores are relative of all the shows I have seen. In other words, if I come across a show that I think is better than all of my 10/10s then the new show gets a 10 and the old 10s get pushed down a rank. Although, with so many shows on my list this rarely happens nowadays.
