Two amazing coming of age stories. Possibly the two best I've seen within the medium of anime. These are both seinen sports anime which include highly emotional moments and even similar climaxes. Both are very rewarding for similar reasons. Excellent character growth and plot progression. Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru is my favorite anime of all time and Ping- Pong is the only anime that I have found similar to it as of the time of this recommendation.

Both of these anime are episodic, and carry the same elements and dialogue from episode to episode. Recurring animations and lines foreshadow themes and plot points while also making use of humor. Both are 11 episode noitaminA shows within the 'coming-of-age' genre. Sarazanmai is a bit more character driven where the Tatami Galaxy relies heavily on its unique brand of storytelling. Both shows are animated well and contain aspects of magical realism. Each series also has fans that will tell you much though is required to appreciate them.

Both anime are done by the same team at PA works and have almost exactly the same art style and character design. Both are original anime and coming of age tales, though Irozuku looks at depression while Sayonara is a study of motherhood and coming to terms with grief.

Both series are coming of age tales concerning a small group of feminine protagonists. Both groups wish to make the most of their youth, and extending their understandings of the unknown. While Araburu explores more sexual themes, the comedy and tone of each series is very similar.
