I really got into anime when I was just hitting my teenage years. Before then, I'd watch Pokemon not knowing it was a Japanese Cartoon. I would also catch Toonomi late at night and would see an episode of Dragon Ball Z Kai. But something about the style made it seem not like a typical cartoon, but something else entirely. It was more serious, more violent, with more mature themes and characters. The concept of a cartoon or animated series where the target audience was not exclusively children was so alien to me. So, I checked this anime medium out and wow I was blown away. I love anime's unique style and storytelling and it has become a passion of mine to critique and analyze literally any show I end up watching. Now I've seen 10k+ episodes which is wild. But still, I know its only a matter of time before the next "wow" moment.
