I’ve loved anime for around 45 years. Starting as a kid with Speed Racer (Mach GoGoGo) and Battle of the Planets (Gatchaman), but I’m dyslexic, so I can only watch English dubbed. I figure if it’s worth reading, I’ll pick up the manga, and read it at my own pace.

Favorite genre: Isekai, but I’ll watch anything as long as it has a good combination of any of the following.
1. A well written story
2. Well developed characters + compelling character arcs
3. A unique, and/or interesting setting, or plot concept
4. Be hilarious, heart felt, or evoke other strong emotions

The best anime for me are ones that leave me guessing all the way to the end. (Me being a writer, that doesn’t happen often.) For an anime to make my top ten, it must change the way I see, and watch anime as a whole.

I’m not overly picky about art, as long as it’s not extremely unrealistic to the point of being distracting, and takes me out of the story.
