Lol, I expected that to be higher.
Also, why the high Shin-chan? XD
Why is that? Doraemon, Detective Conan and One Piece are much, much more popular in Japan.

Those bitching about Haruhi: Those are damn good numbers for a series with a primarily otaku fanbase.

Let's see. I expected Haruhi and UBW to get more. Shame that Bungaku Shoujo, Eve no Jikan and King of Thorn got so little screenings. Also, wth is with One Piece being first?
because one piece is the best

Pokemon (one week) 632,420,000 yen 369scr
Holy crap! While Pokemon is pretty much dead and gone to the rest of the world it sure retains its popularity in Japan.
Pokemon is one of the most popular franchises worldwide.
Pokemon is no where near as popular as it once was outside of Japan.
Eh, the new Pokemon games still sell far more in the West than they do in Japan. The newer anime may not be as popular, but the series is still extremely strong here.
I am not saying Pokemon isn't still popular, I was just emphasizing the popularity of Pokemon in Japan as opposed to outside the country. If the lastest movie was released in theatres overseas hardly anyone would care to see it. I repeat myself - Pokemon is no where near as popular as it once was outside of Japan.

I'm glad the Gintama movie beat the Haruhi one.
I really wish the Hetalia movie would have ranked higher, but I suppose it did pretty good considering the fact that it was only shown in ten theaters and it has a smaller target audience.
