'Dandadan' Gets Third Anime Season

The official website of the television anime adaptation of Yukinobu Tatsu's Dandadan manga announced a third season on Friday, revealing an announcement visual (pictured).

Produced by Science SARU, the first season aired in 12 episodes in Fall 2024. The second season premiered on July 4 and ended on Friday. Crunchyroll, Netflix, and Hulu streamed the anime with subtitles and dubs in multiple languages. GKIDS licensed the anime in North America.

Tatsu began drawing the action supernatural manga on the Shounen Jump+ web magazine in April 2021. Shueisha published the 20th volume on July 4, with the 21st volume scheduled for an October 3 release. The manga has a cumulative ten million copies of its volumes in circulation.

VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in February 2022. The 14th volume went on sale on August 5, with the 15th volume scheduled to be released on October 7. Shueisha is also publishing the manga in English on its Manga Plus website and app.

I've heard a lot about the manga but to see it gets new season almost in every other season is another thing. I haven't watch any of dandadan but i sure hope it will be a good binge watch later.

Great, I hope the Chainsaw Man series becomes like it, with a new season every year, not a movie every two years or something.

@LxFortuner Nah it's very likely minimum 2027. The studio in the next year is very busy (already got another anime this Fall + 2 more in 2026)

Let's be real here. The chapters of the manga apart from the art , the dialogues and lore...don't require that much effort, to say it nicely. So it makes sense that they already have plenty of content to work with the animation. There is a reason why other why other series with even more success need more time to getva new season.....

@Temperanced yep the answer is simply a matter of being efficient in animation time(drawing tons of frames and movements with that kind of design would be hell) and the overwhelming majority of Otaku preferring stockings so yeah that's it

I guess this is the reason, because I thought it was really odd for them to censor just bare legs when they showed Momo & Aira in lingerie on EP-9 in S1

Wow, that's a lot of censorship. 🤣 I didn't know that, quite interesting. I'll let this censorship slide since it makes sense. They have pretty good reasons for it, lol.

@sayakikao plus believe it or not this kind of design change has happened in multiple series due to being easier to draw multiple frames like one of the curses in JJK, popstep from my hero academia illegals, and edo Lucy from fairy tail off the top of my head it's done to save time more than anything else

@yamiyugi101 If that is the case then it's more understandable. I prefer bare legs but since anime is the art of JP people, whatever they like is fine, I guess.

I never like censorship. I don't see the point in censoring Bamora's outfit. It was just like a swimsuit, what was the harm?
Aside from that, Science Saru has done a wonderful job with the first two seasons. Looking forward to the third one.

@Blazerun19 actually they do this so it's easier to animate believe it or not that and JP audiences prefer stockings to bare legs majorly

@wildhood Dandadan is packing theaters, even in Latin America. It’s clear Blu-ray sales don’t really matter. I expected even a complete adapatation or at least 5 seasons
