'Madogiwa no Totto-chan' Announces Supporting Cast

The official website of the anime movie adapting Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's Madogiwa no Totto-chan (Totto-chan: The Little Girl at the Window) autobiographical novel revealed supporting cast members on Wednesday. The movie is scheduled to open in Japan on December 8.

Sousaku Kobayashi: Kouji Yakusho (Bakemono no Ko)
Moritsuna Kuroyanagi: Shun Oguri (Captain Herlock)
Asa Kuroyanagi: Anne (Anne Watanabe) (Sarusuberi: Miss Hokusai)
Ooishi-sensei: Karen Takizawa (Kagami no Kojou)

Shinnosuke Yakuwa (Doraemon Movie 34 & 36) is helming the movie at Shin-Ei Animation and is penning the script with Yousuke Suzuki. Shizue Kaneko (Adachi to Shimamura) is designing the characters and Yuuji Nomi (Mimi wo Sumaseba) is composing the music.

Kuroyanagi penned Madogiwa no Totto-chan in 1981, which became an instant bestseller in post-war Japan. The title has also been published in 35 countries and won the Janusz Korczak Award in Poland in 1985.
