Synopsis
Becoming an ice dancer was not what Tsukasa Akeuraji had aimed for when he decided to take on the figure skating world. However, it is where he ended up as he "started too late" to follow his true solo-skating dreams.
For years, he was content with being a shell of his former ambitions—that is, until he met a little girl in whom he saw himself. Inori Yuitsuka, a fifth-grader so desperate to skate that she practiced in secret, had visited Tsukasa's rink with her mother to ask for lessons. She was branded as useless by everyone around her, told it was "too late" for her to begin, and that catching up to other skaters was impossible.
With a newfound conviction and unwillingness to let another passionate skater go down the same road as him, Tsukasa takes on the responsibility of coaching her and promises to make Inori a medalist. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

loli doesn't automatically mean something lewd
Loli is shorthand from Lolita, the title of an 1953 novel written by russian-american author Vladimir Nabokov. It tells the retrospective story of 40-something guy and a 13 year old girl who sent him to prison. Initially the book got banned in several countries. So loli does indeed mean that.

I can see this become bocchi the rock but sport, until, i, saw, the studio.
Thus far Medalist the anime has been splendid and it's not just ENGI Studio creating it but also a lot of OEMs working for them. Scriptwriter is Jukki Hanada and his name really can't be ignored.
On the other hand, manga readers complain endlessly that anime adaptation has made minor character trait alterations while translating the still images story to moving picture. They learned nothing from Oshi No Ko... (If there's a thing worth attention in OnK then it's the parts which explain a manga story cannot be 1-to-1 copied to motion, be it a TV show or a theatrical musical.)

lmao at the Twitter kids acting repulsed.
I, for one, am disappointed this series doesn't seem to be ecchi. Can't wait for the hentai doujin to fill the gaps.
Very based. Yup, same

It's making me nauseous how some people here can look at a 10/11 year old and refer to her as a loli, or in this manga, asking if she has a love interest. SHE IS 10 FFS PLEASE GO SEE A PROFFESSIONAL.

Studio ENGI is amazing. I have yet to be disappointed by anything they've done.

Studio ENGI is gonna pull a Studio Doga Kobo(Oshi No Ko)
eh, doga kobo already has experience with doing well-animated series its just that people don't care about their slice-of-life shows so they panicked and were obviously wrong that the studio couldn't handle it
I love everything that Doga Kobo has done though. They're one of the best.

A lot of hate for ENGI in here, meanwhile I think that with their new anime adaptations coming, that tune will change starting with this one
I hope so too, I agree!

Not all loli stuff is sexual (the book doesn't decide what the word loli presents IN anime, shut up please)
Japanese people call short petite women loli all the time, to them it refers to a small and youthful person, and has nothing to do with porn.....
But it honestly kind of disgusts me that people see a loli, or see the word loli, and immediately want to make it about real children being abused.
Can yall either shut up or find a new hobby/fandom to harass???
I don't remember us inviting you guys to the party... Most of yall were the people who didn't invite weebs to parties either.
Just enjoy/dislike the product for "what it is", regardless if it's about a loli or not, and regardless if people use the word loli or not.
To any non-tourist out there who likes anime(especially those who were fans of anime before Covid happened), loli just means small anime girl. It types a lot faster than saying small anime girl, it differs 12 letters including the spaces. Get over it you whiny crybabies. The word loli isn't going anywhere, you either adapt to what it means inside anime, or just leave?
If it bothers you too much to immediately need to make a scene about it. You clearly don't fit in with the culture, because back in the day this culture didn't b*tch about everything. Especially not such utterly inconsequential worries. Complaining about the meaning of the word loli isn't saving any children for f*cks sake guys... Especially not if you take the meaning inside anime culture....
It wasn't porn rotten people who slapped the term loli onto anime characters. It was Japanese people inside the culture themselves.
Loli, Shota, Shounen, Shoujo. These are merely descriptors for age ranges and target demographics to Japanese people. And a lot of people who were fans long before you spiteful insecure haters arrived used these terms in basic reference with no hidden meaning behind them.
Literally get over yourselves.
