'Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest' Sequel Manga Gets TV Anime

The Hiro Mashima Fan Meeting @Mixalive Tokyo livestream event announced a television anime adaptation of the Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest sequel manga on Saturday.

Atsuo Ueda began drawing the sequel on the Magazine Pocket web manga platform in July 2018, approximately a year after Hiro Mashima concluded his original Fairy Tail manga. Kodansha published the ninth volume on July 9 (pictured right).

Kodansha US licensed the manga in English in March 2019 and shipped the seventh volume on May 18. The eighth volume is planned for a September 28 release.

The original Fairy Tail manga was adapted into three television anime, two anime movies in 2012 and 2017, and nine original video anime episodes. Fairy Tail: Final Series (Fairy Tail Final Series), the latest anime installment in the franchise, aired in 51 episodes between Fall 2018 and Summer 2019.

Synopsis
The 100 Years Quest: a mission so challenging and hazardous that it has remained unaccomplished for over a century. While countless mages have attempted to take on this gruelling objective, their results ended in either overwhelming defeat or worse. Nonetheless, Natsu Dragneel and his friends—Lucy Heartfilia, Gray Fullbuster, Erza Scarlet, and Wendy Marvell, along with the exceeds Happy and Charlés—ambitiously embark on the quest.

A year after the Fairy Tail guild has overcome the diabolical forces of Acnologia and Zeref, Natsu and his team trek into the northern continent of Guiltina, where they seek out the employer of the 100 Years Quest and receive their nearly impossible mission: to seal away the Five Dragon Gods—a group of individuals with such vast power that, if left alone, could cause global devastation. Meanwhile, a spirited new member named Touka is recruited to Fairy Tail. Although her vibrant energy and passionate nature makes her perfect for the guild, there seems to be more to her than meets the eye.

Determined to accomplish their seemingly insurmountable mission, Natsu and his friends begin their treacherous search for the Dragon Gods. However, once encountering a new dark guild named Diabolos, along with the newest recruit of Fairy Tail revealing her true colors, Natsu and his team will find that the 100 Years Quest isn't the only challenge they face. Chapter 21 was the only time Natsu used FoE Flames of Emotion so far when that *person* angered Natsu
You will notice the difference in Chapter 45
No Erza neither Natsu wins by friendship or emotion power boost
Speech is the only thing Natsu and Erza does and that´s it

it´s different from Avatar and Alvarez timeskip Fairy Tail
It has Character devleopment
The only flaw I think it has is some fights should be extended
That´s the issue 100 Years Quest has it is the bi weekly for one chapter

If Eden's Zero and Fairy Tail can both receive anime at the same time, I hope this means that Kaguya can keep getting anime even when Oshi no Ko airs.

Well, as excepteed. There will be new another season of Fairy Tail, I read the manga until chapter 30 and later on dropped because I saw the same concept of classic FT series. I don't know how long FT will continue but at least Mashima should spare the space expansion, like alien dragons invaded to earth etc..

I hope so the best arc IMO was the book of zeraf wasn't as kid friendly and seemed more real. "the last series" was probably on the lower end of the season IMO and unfortunately was a crappy ending

Insert OP powerup or stronger attack, 1shot, the end of the fight.

but what are you saying?. In this sequel, the one who has suffered the most has been Erza. Kyria cleaned the floor with her, then Laxus, Youko and Susaku did too. Erza needed the help of the whole team, + Lucy's spirits, + Elentir's enhancer, + Wendy's enhancer to be able to beat Youko. Do you really think that in a 1 vs 1 Erza would have beaten Youko? In fact, Youko put the mast so high that MImi and Hakune's performances were disappointing.

So far we have not seen a battle where natsu has been blessed by the power of feelings or nakama power.

In the first arc, he needed Ignia's help to be able to defeat Merc, (even Ignia made fun of him for being so weak and for believing that Acno was defeated by a guy like natsu), in Aldo's arc he needed that the other members of FT will defeat the seed dragons, since Aldo was cleaning the floor with him and in the Elentir arc Natsu did nothing since it was Wendy who took the leading role against "Hand"

Do you really think Natsu would beat Selene when we just saw how she destroyed George?

I am not saying that FTYQ100 is at the level of Tartaros, or Tenrou Island or the great magic games. but at this point FTYQ100 is better than Alvarez, Avatar, Key to Heaven or eclipse of spirits
