and is there something wrong with them looking "masculine" or like drag queens? just say you're homophobic and sexist and leave
People are so sensitive these days I guess twitter would attack me for being homophobic? Which I am not.
This was my initial comment.
"Are these characters trans..... or? I can never get into this series." Just so you know the second part of my sentence has no relation to the first part, so I wasn't saying I can't get into the series because the characters look like trans. Just pointing that out.
I have watch a few episodes of jo jo in the past and the female characters never look anything like these, so I think its fair to ask such a question. Why the author suddenly decided to make his female characters look so masucline all of a sudden. I guess consistency isn't a thing in the jo jo series?
I made that comment because I was thinking to myself no way these characters are female. If their lip glass was remove and their clothes were more on the male side, I would n't not even had made that comment and just assume its an all male cast.
I have no problem with gays or trans. I do have to admit I was wrong when I said trans in my initial comment, drag queen is what I more had in mind when I saw that image.
you didnt even finished part 1, skipped part 2, watched 6 episodes of part 3, jumped into part 7 manga... wtf are you doing? is the art style too different from what you're used to so you use it as an excuse?
I have been told by jojo fans that each jojo series is separate aka standalone, so you can see that I was really trying to see if I like any of these, but to no avail I just can't get into it.
Aight let's break this down.
First of all, that pic is a terrible example. It's small, pixelated, and doesn't really prove your point. Based on that picture, the Stone Ocean crew have more "traditionally" (in terms of artistic interpretation anyway) feminine body types and more feminine clothing styles.
As for the other remark, as someone who has spent a decent amount of time in drag and around drag queens... I don't think you know what drag queens look like.
The appeal of the series has nothing to do with how attractive or unattractive the main cast is. Generally speaking, the target audience is teenage men and the main cast before this season have been entirely male with only 2 exceptions. The main appeal for most would be the fights and powers going up against eachother. The creative ways the main cast overcome their opponent who is on equal or greater footing. The plot too.
Also, Jolyne is hot af so like... Sucks you can't appreciate that I guess.
I hear you, but the few episodes I have watch of jo jo I don't remember the female characters looking like that so when I saw the image it really took me by surprise.
I think its reasonable that anyone that didn't read the source material of part 6 and look at this image, would either assume this is aball male cast or make the same statement as me.
Jolyne does look the best out of the rest, just the face does not sit right with me.
I never expected my comment to cause such a mess But it goes to show you how the world has change, many times I have seen persons that I can't tell whether they are male or female(they look like a hybrid of both) and thus not sure whether to call this person a he or she to not mistakenly disrespect them.
If you are unsure of someone's gender, just use neutral pronouns like "they" and "them". I wouldn't necessarily call your comments homophobic, but they do have a tone to then that would suggest bigotry. Red flags, if you will. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say English isn't your first language, but I suggest that you be more respectful in terms of gender and would hope you don't question people's genders to their face on the street.
No one but you is assuming these character's genders. Jolyne, Hermes and FF all present pretty obviously as female with their attire, body types and the way they address themselves within the canon (though I guess FF is a bit iffy in that regard). The lines on the faces are purely an aesthetic choice to show shadow and detail, as with the male faces.

I have no problem with strong women, but those look like drag queen. This is an example of a strong woman that still looks like a woman.
I don't know the intention of Araki as to why he makes his female cast look like men in girls outfits, but I guess that is part of the appeal of this series.

”cis” is just a fancy word for normal men and women
It ain't. Both come from Latin. Cis meaning "the same as" or "on the same side", trans meaning "different than" or "on the other side". Cis means that your gender and sex match while trans means that they don't.
this guy has watched 1,2 and half or part 3 and skipped to the part 7 manga only to end up not understanding anything, he gives aot a 10 and everything else a bad review. people like this shouldnt be worth your time, he probably thinks jojo looks gay or something cause it has a different art style than he is used to
You do have a point. But also I just like talking about Jolyne lol.

Either way, the trailer looks sick! If the entire anime looks that good, it may even overtake Diamond is Unbreakable as my favorite all-time anime in terms of visuals!
