'Re:Zero' Author, Scriptwriter, Wit Studio Create 'Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song' Original Anime in Spring 2021

Aniplex announced an original television anime titled Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song on Friday. The production company also opened an official website, revealing the lead staff, a teaser visual (pictured), and teaser promo. The anime series, produced by animation studio Wit Studio (Shingeki no Kyojin, Koutetsujou no Kabaneri), will air in April 2021.

Tappei Nagatsuki, the original creator of the Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu (Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World-) franchise, and scriptwriter Eiji Umehara (Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu, ChäoS;Child, Donten ni Warau Gaiden trilogy) are credited for the original story and script. The tagline on the teaser visual reads, "The story of I, Vivy, destroying my A.I self."

Nagatsuki recently served as a scriptwriter for the original anime Senyoku no Sigrdrifa (Warlords of Sigrdrifa), which aired in Fall 2020. Manga artist Takuya Fujima (Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha ViVid, ViVid Strike!) and Takaaki Suzuki, supervisor for Girls und Panzer and military researcher for Strike Witches, also collaborated on the anime.

THANK YOU! People need to realize that the studios have no control, but I guess blaming them is easy for them to do.

They didn't "risk" SnK... They are making new projects, SnK publishers make an obnoxious timeline where they want the anime to end around the same time as the manga, and they find a cheaper, more flexible studio. SnK having a different studio is a fault of publishers. Same mess happened with One Punch Man S2. Don't blame the studio for wanting to make their own work...

Pretty excited, it's from one of my favorite authors, although I'll keep my expectations low, Tappei is good in writing books and since this is an anime original, he may not have much time and freedom to plan out the world and plot. Like Sigururi, which I enjoyed but wasn't as well-written as Re:Zero. He's been working on many projects now, hope he's not overworking himself, he's helping out Re:Zero staff, worked on Sigururi, finished Arc 6 in both WN and LN, planning to start writing Arc 7 "soon", and now is working on a new original? Please take a break too Tappei-sensei, your health is very important.

Wit Studio now is more focus on making original anime. that is one of the reasons why they dropped AoT. They already began it with. Dont be surprised if Vinland Saga also get studio change too.
After Great Pretender which was great anime. they will make more original anime
- Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song (this one)
- Vampire in the Garden (Netflix original)

Re:Zero + Wit Studio: Killer combi?

Warlords of Sigrdrifa was not the best of Tappei Nagatsuki BY A LONG SHOT, but this'll probably have a good momentum to remit a Re:Zero alternate of some kind.

WIT's doing another original eh? That's pretty cool. I like Re Zero and man we could use more good sci fi anime and more originals in general. Still the announcment came out pretty suddenly if this is coming out in Spring. Not that I mind. Though like most originals will wait until other people check it out first lol.

hype , Eiji Umehara also the one doing the script for Re:zero episode 15 and 33, which I considers the best Re:zero episodes because how gruesome it is.

I doubt this will have the depth that Re:Zero has considering it's not based on books which the author has had time to slowly and meticulously plan out, but I hope it's at least pretty good.

Also, not sure why people dislike Re:Zero so much. The characters and world in that show are top tier.
