Now the question with Bake is it actually going to have legs like Macross Froniter (Vol1 ended up selling 64,000 copies, another 25,000 after week 1) or be frontloaded like K-ON (Vol1 has only sold another 9,000 in total since week 1).

Since stock was a problem and it's sold out everywhere more than likely it has legs.

I'm not 100% certain, but I guess so.

Thanks dtshyk.

dtshyk, K-ON! BD sales on 1st week weren't higher?

Well, Bakemonogatari is, along with K-ON!, the TV anime hit of 2009 in sales matter.

Serious business guys still can rely in impressive Kara no Kyoukai movies sales, XD.

ah... I misunderstood something.

Macross Frontier vol.1
DVD 17,458
Blu-ray 22,000

K-ON! vol.1

Can we have some Bakemonogatari BDs outside of Japan too? I don't have a BD player, just want the BDs.

The region code of Japanese Blu-ray is A. (North & South America: A, Europe: B, China: C)
Bake BD vol.1 on Amazon Japan
Amazon delivers items wherever you live.
Hmm, I'm a eurofag. Guess I'll have to buy a region-free BD player then.

Do you know if all anime BDs are region coded?

Kuroshitsuji vol 9 outsells FMA:B vol 2. Surprise for me at least. I didn't know that Kuroshitsuji is that popular. (great anime btw)

I did not know that Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood already released DVD's of the series.

Holy shit Gintama is well ahead! I knew it was popular but not that popular.

Bakemonogatari was severely undershipped, most places were sold out earlier in the week, they were rumored to ship 25k for DVD and Bluray.

Yeah, that was so annoying. I missed out and now I'll have to wait until they restock.+_+

Quite an impressive week, Bakemono's blu-ray sells surprise my a lot, I pegged it for around 7500-9000 sells.

Gintama sells well, Bleach movie sells well twice, and FMA is lower than I thought.

Oct 6, 2009 7:06 PM by mitamaking

Any other week and Bakemonogatari would've been a little higher. Although being the only one in the top 5 that released DVD and Blu-ray this week is good.

Bleach is Bleach, and I thought the movie was good.... but putting limited edition and normal edition in the Top 3 is overkill.

Oct 6, 2009 3:52 PM by Tyranid5

What amount of sales would be considered good actually?

Oct 6, 2009 3:01 PM by Likewise

Wow...a minute and a half of BRS beat 5 minutes of Hetalia...

Oct 6, 2009 1:46 PM by BadLuckTuck

Bakemonogatari, Hitagi Crab should in first place. But FUCK YEAH!, otakus proved that ANIPLEX/Kodansha/SHAFT will profit from making a second season. Just waiting...

And I recognize that JUMP-related OVA and Movie is hard to beat.

_________

P.S.: Really? Black Rock Shooter? 90-second trailer?

Oct 6, 2009 1:33 PM by qwertybr

BSR should be in first place
