Third Film of 'Koukyoushihen Eureka Seven Hi-Evolution' Postponed to 2021
The official website for the Koukyoushihen Eureka Seven Hi-Evolution movie trilogy announced on Monday that the third film has been postponed to a 2021 premiere date. It was originally scheduled to premiere this year.
Announced in March 2017, the movie trilogy tells the story of the phenomenon known as "The First Summer of Love," which took place ten years before the first Eureka Seven TV anime that was broadcast between April 2005 and April 2006. The films consist of a summarized version of the main story line, new dialogue and additional scenes, and revised footage. The third film will conclude the trilogy with an ending that was not present in the original series.
The first film was pre-screened at Otakon 2017 in August, prior to its September premiere in Japanese theaters. The second film, subtitled Anemone, premiered in Japan in November 2018.
In addition, it was also announced that Anemone will receive a special screening at the Shinjuku Wald 9 theater in Tokyo on December 23. Chief director Tomoki Kyouda, voice actress Kaori Nazuka (Eureka), and Bones president and producer Masahiko Minami will attend for a stage greeting.
Funimation licensed the film trilogy and screened the first film in North America in February 2018. The company then released it as a Blu-ray and DVD combo in August. Anemone was screened at Anime Expo 2019 and will have its home video release in Spring 2020.

The second film was really impressive. Even if the new footage sections were not very long. If the third movie plans to use extended new footage, it makes sense they would need to delay. its basically Sakuga on PCP.

Definitely excited for this! It’s a pity that there’ll be a pretty long delay but I’m hoping to see this series end on a high so no biggies from me.
I’m looking forward to more news on this in the upcoming stage greetings!

I need to go back and check if I'm up to date on everything Eureka Seven. Don't mind a delay if it means the movie will be enjoyable in the end.
