really cool that fate/extra sold well this week :] the anime wasn’t the yellow from the egg but still, it wasn’t too bad to be honest.

Niponjins surely buy every shit with Fate tag on it, im disgusted.

You might as well explain the whole FGO history in JP especially the "first year" where it was probably the most shitty gacha game ever where you literally can't earn freemium and difficulty spike is ridiculously retarded along with generic shitty animation + overpriced quartz, 1% odd for 5*, no fucking safety net, the gacha pool is totally random that also includes Craft essence and that 1% on 5* actually 0.7% on rate up servant, low stars dupe are technically Useless other than being a mana prism.

Apparently it's acceptable because it is "Fate".

It disgusted me when i realised people willing to protect the company ass that time.

Then for anime we got Emiya gohan because people would suck up anything with Fate tittle on it.

What's next? Fate Strange fake? Hollow Attraxia? Extella?

Where the fk is Tsukihime ufotable.

It's acceptable because gacha is acceptable in mobile for years, even more in Japan

there it sold more than 5K while we know the break-even for much of anime is around 3K only

5k is awful for a movie lmao

Anime movies usually sell around 20-60k blu rays

nope 5K is fine for a movie, a 13 episodes anime that have much longer duration than a typical 2 hour movie have an average budget of $2 million

not all anime movies have a budget of more than $2 million dollars, plus anime movies have ticket sales too and this Godzilla films are shown in Netflix

EDIT:

When we talk about movies, the difference becomes even more dramatic. There aren't many low-budget pieces of 2D feature animation being made Stateside these days, but here's a couple points of reference: the 2002 Powerpuff Girls movie had an estimated budget of US$11 Million. 1996's Beavis and Butthead Do America similarly came in at around US$12 Million. Compare that to anime's mid-range: Mamoru Oshii's The Sky Crawlers had a budget of only US$2.6 Million, and Satoshi Kon's Millennium Actress came in at only ¥120 Million, which is just over one million dollars today.

https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/answerman/2015-09-08/.92622

disc sales overall for anime are declining for the last decade too anyway so 5K for a movie is not that bad at all considering that Netflix will stream it too and that ticket sales will add up to their profit

take for example KyoAni recent movies that also averages 5K disc sales
