'Re:Stage!' Idol Franchise Receives Anime Adaptation

At the "Re:Stage! PRISM☆LIVE!! ~2ndSTAGE~ Ready for Dream" event held on Sunday, it was announced that the multimedia idol franchise by Pony Canyon and Kadokawa Shoten's Comptiq, Re:Stage!, will get an anime adaptation. Details regarding the anime will be announced at a later date.

Re:Stage! also gets a nationwide van tour next year, a novel and game adaptation, live events, music CD release, and more. A collaboration event with Lucky☆Star titled "LUCKY☆STEP!" will be held on Saturday. Additionally, main unit KiRaRe will be releasing their fifth single "367Days' on August 22.

Featuring artist Tsubasa Izumi's character designs and illustrations, the franchise revolves around a nationwide middle school idol tournament Prism Stage with female idols aiming to reach the top. So far, there are five units in the franchise: KiRaRe, ortensia, Stella maris, TORIS ANGES, and Tetra Rikha.

Kadokawa released two light novel volumes in March 2016 and January 2017 with several short stories published in its official website. A smartphone rhythm game titled "Re:Stage! Prism Step" was also released in August last year.
