Haruka Fujita is a female...
Of course she is! I meant to say Hanada ROFL. Thanks for pointing that out!
Ah! Ok, you meant Jukki Hanada the writer. Ok, ok! No problem you know. You're welcome.

Smh I have no hope for any ships, they all sank and are rotting at the bottom of the ocean >_>
Not all ships, my friend. Not all.
So, what do you mean by this? This is for you one of these strong hints?
It amazes me that you can see hints in the subtext always between Shuuichi and Kumiko but not between Kumiko and Reina. For logic if you can see these, you can see the others. You are in total denial my friend.
For me, at the point where the anime is, all options have the same chances. Kumiko can remain alone, end up with Reina, with Asuka or with your beloved Shuuichi.
If you disagree, prove me wrong. Ki ni narimasu!
I CAN DIE HAPPY NOW 😀😁
After you have watched it. :D
ah yeah I am ready for the salt
What is salt for some is sugar for others. Since I have followed Japanese boards during the run of the second season, I know what majority of fans in Japan want to see.
So? Let me guess, with Shuuichi, right?
This is false, I have followed Japanese boards during the run of the second season too and were quite neutral. Moreoever, If you follow the Japanese comments then you will know that one of the appealings of the series is the relationship between Kumiko and Reina.
I'm not really familiar with the source (the novel), but I think there's not much content left to be adapted? Will it be original stories then?
Also, one of the illustrations created by KyoAni somewhat revealed their intention.
Let me guess, the one which Kumiko comes out with the pin for Keihan trains? For your information, there is another image with Kumiko and her pin with the Blu-ray purchase in the Kyoani shop.
If we are going to put to look at the subtext in the images, how many images Kumiko shows up with Reina? And with Shuuichi? And that without mentioning that the pin in the anime doesn't mean at all the same thing as in the novel.
Oh, I didn't know about this, thanks for the info!
Fujita Haruka, for example, even if he could, was reluctant to take out the route the novel took entirely. It's something that would leave open the door to a possible convergence in the future adaptations. When he was asked about a certain character that tends to have very little screen time yet making appearances in important moments, he carefully avoided the question. He avoided explaining why that character was simply not taken out of the story entirely. Even in the second season, where that character visibly became a background image, careful considerations were taken to make sure the presence didn't entirely disappear. The reason for bringing this up is obviously to venture into how far KyoAni is planning to diverge from the source material in the third movie.

Oh, I didn't know about this, thanks for the info!
Considering that the new movies will come out next year, I supposed the continuation of the novel will come out around the same time as the movies, or perhaps a bit later then?
Interesting to see the timeline of the story as well. Since the first of the new movies will undoubtedly focus on Nozomi and Mizore (hence the title), I wonder if it will take place around the ending of the second season, or will it be just before or even shortly after Kumiko and co. are in their second years.
No problem.
I think the novels will come out at the same time, albeit just before the movies.
Regarding the first of the two new movies, I really dunno. The possibilities you have mentioned aside, it could be such that the movie will entirely focus on Nozomi and Mizore when they were in the first year or even further back when they were in middle school. It could be a flashback story like KyoAni did with their other adaptations in recent times (i.e. Free! and Kyoukai no Kanata).
Interestingly, while romance is far from the main plot in the source material, there is a notion that Takeda was influenced by Kyoto Animation's adaptation in the third volume (final volume) but didn't change her original idea on which route to take which is evident in her fourth volume (which is a collection of shorts). In her own words, Kumiko has a very difficult personality so, she needed someone to be by her side who understands her the most and would never leave her side even when they have to put up with her personality. In that accord, it actually makes sense why she decided to take a certain route in her story. Kyoto Animation on that aspect, kept the whole romance subplot vague and decided to put more effort in friendship over romance. Personally I would rather see the third movie is focusing on Kitauji competing for the gold in the nationals because that MUST remain the objective instead of something similar to Tamako Love Story which I don't think would fit for this anime.

Takeda Ayano, the author, promised her fans in her twitter that she would continue her novel and write stories of Kumiko in her second and third years because of the enormous reception and words of affection she received for her story and her characters. She didn't mention when she was about to start writing as at that moment she was writing a detective novel.
I think KyoAni will have an idea of the contents to shape up the story around just like they added Nozomi and Mizore in their storyboard even before the 2nd volume of the novel came out (which means they had access to Takeda's works before they were published). It doesn't however guarantee anything that it will follow the novel entirely as we have seen in the first two seasons of the anime. They will have to work around A LOT for the third movie because in that movie, Kumiko will be in her second year and the novel readers know what happened just before they became second years. The anime adaptation tried to avoid going there entirely but there have been strong hints that they might eventually because of how they didn't exclude some of the key moments in the story while adapting the anime. Also, one of the illustrations created by KyoAni somewhat revealed their intention.

@shanimebib You call this cheer?! Oh right, you can't see my face... it's contorted into multiple layers of confusion and sadness. But maybe I've cheered up a bit just talking about it. Just a bit.
Anyway, I will watch the movie with an open mind. If Asuka says "I love you" to Kumiko with a sparkle in her eyes while holding her face gently, I will understand that it is friendship. Wholesome friendship! This is a pure anime, my friends. Girls' love is like the moon, just a phase. *cries in corner*
Okay. I will try not to say anything beyond what I have already said just that I like how you are planning to watch it with an open mind. However, please don't add 'lol' after your sentences unless you make it clear to be a sarcasm. Internet doesn't show our faces so without seeing one's expression or body language, it's impossible what the other party is feeling when the only source of intelligible content is what is written. I didn't have any intention to hurt you so I apologize.
Eh? What? No no I was joking, I don't think I've ever contorted my face into multiple layers of anything before xD I'm a very laidback person, so if I ever sound upset I'm probably being satirical or melodramatic on purpose, that's my personality irl lol. I forget there are people who's feelings actually get hurt when it comes to shipping... you're fine, no harm done ^^
