Anime Movie 'Liz to Aoi Tori' Announced

An official website by Kyoto Animation has opened and announced that anime film Liz to Aoi Tori (Liz und ein Blauer Vogel or Liz and the Bluebird) will premiere in Japanese theaters on April 21, 2018. This movie will be the Mizore to Nozomi no Monogatari part of Hibike! Euphonium new movies, which was previously announced to premiere in 2018. Naoko Yamada has been listed as the director of the movie.

Liz to Aoi Tori is based on the novel. It was called a "new work" because in the novel, the story is told from Kumiko's perspective. However, in the movie, it is told from Mizore's perspective with a lot of details on Liz to Aoi Tori plus Mizore's inner monologues included.

This is placed in the same timeline as Chikai no Finale.

OK, who wrote this article? Please revise it for clarity - it took me two minutes to figure out that it was connected to Hibike Euphonium in some way, and it's taking me even longer to decide on whether this is just a "part" of a movie or the actual legitimate entire movie.

KyoAni is going all out with their Hibike! Euphonium franchise. I have not seen them going so far with their other franchises in the past despite of the below average sales compared to their hit franchises (Key Adaptations, Hyouka, Suzumiya Haruhi, Lucky Star, K-on! and more recently FREE!). Given that Ishihara and Yamada, two most successful directors of the studio, are so engaged with their work, going as far as revealing their love for the story, the characters and the potential it has, I won't be surprised if we see more of this franchise coming our way. They might even go all the way until Kumiko and the current second years (current novel) graduate from high school. Takeda-sensei also kept her promise as she returned back to writing more on Hibike! Euphonium.

As a huge fan of the franchise, I am now eagerly waiting for it. Also, the title of the movie suggests that the story could well be
