Lmao, there's only a few people who are all complaining about this being a thing, but like- why the fuck does it matter to you? Dudes, the female audience is very important to the anime industry, just cause this anime isn't a ton of big eyed females with bouncy boobs, doesn't mean its bad. I don't watch anime much anymore and have never watched the idolm@ster series, I'm more of a horror, fantasy, and serious plot type anime fan. I like stuff like Ghost in The Shell, Psycho Pass, and shit. But hearing that they have a male idol anime is interesting to me since I've only ever heard about the females, so I never watched it, guessing its just another silly ass show with bouncy girls. Now yes, my name very much implies I'm a gay female, yet still I find no interest in these animes, the male ones are more so delighting to me, not cause I'm a fucking fan girl who dies over males, but cause I wanna see more yaoi suggested stuff. No they probably aren't actually gay, but it would be fair to have Yuri and yaoi leveled out. I am more so a fan of yaoi cause I tend to see more serious stuff in their mangas, as for Yuri, it's super cliche or just focused on the sexy scenes, which get boring to me. Anyways, as for people who like the females cause "oh they're so cute! My waifu!! I have a body pillow of her!"...
What the fuck, find a real girl. I'm not trying to be mean, but dudes and even you are female and have this obsession, not a jokey obsession, but a real one, you need to find someone real. This 2d girl or boy will never give you experience of true love, lust, and pleasure. That feeling of safety and connection.
Oh right, as for the yaoi. No, I don't classify myself as a fujoshi. I don't drool over guys fucking, it's just my taste in porn, and normally It's not anime porn I watch. Anyways, I like yaoi cause it just was more so enjoyable to me then Yuri. Now I don't find much lesbian relationships in anime good, but oh god, there is so many cute ass ships of lesbians else where. I also tend to like oc ships that me and friends create, more than anime and such ships. They just kinda use Yuri as a porn thing or pleasure to male otakus, same for yaoi, but I can easily find the loving and not so focused on sex type side of yaoi more so than Yuri. Maybe cause I don't look to much inti Yuri, but whatever. Ugh I've gone on long enough, this went way off topic.
In all, just let the company make animes they see is fit. They are the professionals'. I also don't see why people just "HAVE" to butt in, just cause you dislike it.

Well, I've seen the CDs sell over 10k and and sometimes over 15k and even more than that sometimes and obviously it's enough for the people behind iMas to care.

Why would you "assume" it sells very little? Male idols are huge with female fans.

I'm not a fan of the male idolm@ster [SideM] - but if we get an anime as good as The Idolm@ster 2011 sign me up because I need a good animated idol anime.
