'Drifters' Gets Second Season

Upon the broadcast of the final episode of this season's anime Drifters, it was announced that the series will get a sequel.

Drifters adapts the manga of the same name by Kouta Hirano. It has been serialized in Young King OURs magazine since April 30, 2009. Five compiled volumes have been released, with the latest going on sale on June 6, 2016. The Blu-ray box (cover shown), containing all twelve episodes and unaired scenes, will be released on December 30, 2016.

Guys remember how Season 1 ends? , there was a message that read, “To be continued second season. See you again. Tokyo 20XX. Sayonara.”
Plus, Kenichi Suzuki the director has already confirmed for the renewal of the second season when the first season ended.

Season 2 is clearly in the works coz there will be enough source material as Dark Horse Comic claimed that they plan on continuing the English Drifters manga series. Even though there hasn't been any official news regarding the release date, many anime news websites claimed that it is set to be released sometime in 2019.

No this was it, they didn't even create another "entry"/anime page for "Season 2". This thread announcement was now referring to the OVA.
The studio and producers didn't made an announcement for the OVA, so this maybe was it. (But It's good and popular, it would have Season 2.)
But I don't know if the announcement they made on the final episode was meant to be a TV Sequel then turned to OVA due to lack of material.

Wow... so that what has happened... I was like this more like ova than season 2... but got Ep so far

This is a really good anime series the character designs let me think back to Hellsing. I cant wait for a second season to come out and I hope that its really soon too.

Much rather wait an excruciating amount of time (or even leave stories unfinished) than have good works such as this ruined by forcing new chapters. That said, hope they come soon.

well they should have enough material for a second season if they use some "fillers" being more dedicated to Naoshi Kanno and Tamon Yamaguchi , as i personally found there little sub chapter in the manga quite interesting.
And the're are a lot more things to cover from the manga even from released chapters, but its all getting rushed i feel, but never the less it was an awesome first season and i cant wait for the second season to start so that we can see the outcome of the large battle that is ahead! :D

At least they'd shown us that the show has popular among its audience, enough to grant it a second season. Unfortunately it seems there's not enough source material left for a second season at the moment but this is their way to say "There's gonna be a second season!"

Good news but I still hate the fact Japan is making too much anime of unfinished source materials, thus, leaving us with LONG waiting periods between seasons, and this is assuming we ever get a second season.

The levels of ridiculou of both shows (Hellsing and Drifters) are up to par, while Drifters IMO has a better setting and more interesting scenarios, Hellsing has better action and better Gore (maybe we're yet to see the best of this show when it comes to it).

Definately enjoying Drifters, so refreshing .. it's rare to find anime like this these days .. pleave let it have way more than 2 seasons :D I wanna see black Jesus getting his ass kicked.

I was really enjoying this anime, I found out there's a studio dedicated for this series, so hopefully it'll be more than just a second season, and nice that there's unaired content coming too. More Toyohisa is welcome xD
