The FUNimation panel announced at Anime Expo 2016 that they have acquired international rights from NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan for the upcoming TV anime Drifters, which is slated for Fall 2016. The series will be simulcast on FUNimation's streaming platform and will be available in North America, United Kingdom, and Ireland. In addition to the simulcast, the panel also announced multiple home video acquisitions.

Redubbing Escaflowne is one of the most questionable (to put it mildly) actions FUNimation's taken recently, especially just for the sake of a few extra scenes. Having a kickstarter for it is just...no comment.

They should know better than anyone else to do the same for Code Geass.

I would've shelled out for the Blu-ray of Escaflowne... but a new dub? No way.
I usually watch subbed but there are certain shows that got me in to anime that I saw dubbed first and thus I like to watch for the nostalgia factor. Mainly works by Ocean Studios and their VAs (Escaflowne, early DBZ, Gundam Wing, Inuyasha, etc).
I'm not gonna pay for a Funimation re-dub unless they bring back the original VAs. I went through heartbreak once when in Dragonball Z, Vegeta went from being Brian Drummond to Christopher Sabat. I can't bear to witness another beloved Brian Drummond voiced character (Allen) suddenly become someone on Funi's payroll. I'll stick with my old DVD version, thank you.

At least its funimation so we know it wont go out of print for a long time or have super extortionist price tag like some other companies like to do with animes

yoooooo Code Geass finally getting some type of release by Funi after all these years of hoarding the license

It will feature a brand-new Japanese 5.1 surround sound audio used on the Blu-ray box sets. the music and sound effects have actually been re-recorded, all under the quality supervision of director Goro Taniguchi himself
