'Little Witch Academia' Gets TV Anime

It has been announced via the official Twitter that Little Witch Academia will receive a TV anime series. The president of studio Trigger, Masahiko Otsuka, mentioned that each episode will be standard length for the 30 minute timeslot. You Yoshinari will return as the director of the series.

Little Witch Academia previously received two movies produced by studio Trigger.

What is interesting is that Little Witch Academia doesn't have the traditional production committee structure for the project. So is Trigger taking on the most financial risk compared to say Kiznaiver, where they were not taking any risk since they were not on the production committee for that project?

Sadly, this sort of sheep behaviour is everywhere in the Western community. You also have people using ANN reviews or MAL scores to dictate what to watch and what to avoid. I bet the "[studio name] saving anime" originated from ANN or 4chan, lol.

Hmm I don't really like magical girls if the anime was similar to Sugar Sugar Rune I would give it a try but no hot guy in love with the witch so I'm out !

Well this is..... something.

Still though, I liked the first movie, but I haven't really watched the second movie yet. I'm interested in what they will do in an actual series instead of short little movies.

Disappointed by this. What gave LWA charm to me was the fact that is was just simplistic shorts. Who knows though, maybe the show will be able to keep this charm.

That's awesome! I still haven't seen the second movie yet, but they're both on Netflix and I will be able to before it airs. BTW it was worded as "the standard for the 30 minute timeslot" meaning "the episodes will be 24 minutes long". It just means it isn't a short, because with things like this there always could be a chance they would be.

Little Witch is one of their works were i can say yeah that was pretty good,movie wasn't that good but who knows it could end up being quite enjoyable, so the movies are gonna serve as a prequel now right?

True, but revealing LWA TV was better than doing nothing at all. Trigger basically left a bad taste in my mouth then gave me a piece of candy to make up for it.
