Nice to know someone that used to be with KyoAni had a brain.
It didn't have to be eight episodes, could've been 3 or 4 and still have the same impact. I'm just worried that this 'season' won't get as much story telling done that the first one did.
At least its over now.
But I heard somewhere that this season was going to be more than 14 episodes...not sure if thats true or not.
I think it was supposed to be 20-something episodes long, so i was hoping for more original episodes than Endless Eight.
BTW i haven't read the Disappearance so could anyone inform me if Endless Eight was a part of that?

Its just a waste. Yamamoto will not come back to Kyoto Animation. I just hope that the present Kyoto Animation will get their acts together and give the fans what they want in the future.
Although, I'd also like to say that I didn't find Endless Eight that horrible. I feel like some of the fans are going a bit overboard with this. Its actually not such a bad idea, to completely reanimate one episode in eight different ways. It's actually a pretty interesting idea, its just that the fans do not want a fourteen episode series to be wasted like that. If this series was fifty episodes, I don't think people would object as much to eight of them being for Endless Eight. I just wish there was more time to show The Dissapearence.
Sigh...

I'm pretty sure it isn't the same people every time. If you look at every episode it's almost a given different people worked in each. Heck, compare it side by side and some don't even look like "Haruhi" at all. It's almost like they decided to hold a contest on who was the team most fit to animate Haruhi or something crazy like that.
I read somewhere where each episode of the Endless Eight arc was handled by a separate animation team. They were given the script and designs and then each team did what they did with it and so we end up with eight versions of the same events. I believe the only differences in the script and dialog are the first episode where they haven't discovered the loop yet, and in the later episodes where the number of loops they've been through in Yuki's explanation change.

Announcements originally said that Haruhi would be re-aired with 28 episodes. I assume this includes the 2006 episodes + 2009 episodes. If so, then that means 14 from each. So...this new season only has 4 more episodes to go, I guess. 7 or 8 more total with the older episodes.
