Sato Shuuhou announced that new episodes of Shin Say Hello to Black Jack will be published on his official website one month after the release in Weekly Big Comic Spirits magazine. He also said "Shin Say Hello to Black Jack" and "Tokkou no Shima" will be his last manga published in the magazines. He will seek a way to run the manga business independent from the publishers, which suffer from the recession.

Hirano Aya is bigger than the manga revolution (on MAL, at least). Go figure.

That dude is either suffering from a mental breakdown or he is a visionary. Only time will tell.

How very interesting. I wonder what this will mean for the future of manga... especially if he manages to pull it off.

I was thinking of posting this in the additional news section of the weekly manga ranking but there happens quite a big uproar here in Japan over this news. It's indeed an unprecedented decision that a mangaka publishes an ongoing series online and the publishers are surely frightened.
