There is quite literally not one single argument you could make that hasn't been presented to him 100 times before, and you're definitely not going to be the ones to convince him that homosexual themes in art are not a zero-sum game, no matter how self-apparent that truth is.
But it is. Sakura Trick already mortally wounded BL anime but this manga is coming up to put it out of its misery.
How has it mortally wounded BL? That doesn't make sense. I'm a fujoshi and I'd also like more BL anime but I do not see how Sakura Trick is in any way, wounding BL. Yuri anime coming out shouldn't affect BL at all. It all depends on how Sakura Trick and this sells, and how Love Stage! sells (not to mention SH movie). They are separate (this is how I see it, at least).

We won't see yaoi shows in every season - maybe not even in regular intervals but from time to time. The same is true for yuri. They are both niche genres - and every so often we get shows pandering to our interests.
Except yuri subtext is so common these days it's scarcely noticeable. You guys get your Yuyushiki's, your Kimoza's, your Yuru Yuri's every fucking season and we get nothing. Now you're getting full-on yuri shows AND WE'RE STILL GETTING NOTHING

More yuri = Less yaoi.
Why? It's not like both genres share the same fanbase - so if more yuri anime air it won't reduce the demand for yaoi works. And as long as that is true there will be a economical interest to satisfy that demand.

Name a show like, say, Yuru Yuri, but with shotas.
1. What have shotas got to do with yaoi?
2. Is it important that they don't seem to have a mindless comedy show with nothing more than a little subtext? That they have that particular style of title?
3. Is the yaoi fanbase even interested in that kind of show or do they prefer others? (Not like the yaoi and yuri fanbase are exactly alike.)

Yes, when people hear the truth they don't want to accept they tend to mock the people saying it.
The great thing about facts is that you don't have to agree with them.
Tell me more about your miserable life and your obsession over yuri, please. You don't post in any other thread, only yuri ones. Also, how's your diaper fetish going? Hanging on well?

Holy shit, my sides. Anyway,

Dream Creation has produced nothing but shorts, so yes, chances are very high this will be one, too.
I'll still check it out, anyway.

]Oh please, don't be unreasonable. I agreed with you in that shounen-ai hate thread, but this is just silly.
Yuri isn't "killing" anything.
If you believe this you're either naive or simply willingly ignorant.
It's a pretty obvious dichotomy. More yuri = Less yaoi. Simple as that. It's in the interest of yuri as a whole genre to kill yaoi, something it has basically already done in terms of anime. Yes, there's a few stragglers like Love Stage, but those are unusual outliers. Name a show like, say, Yuru Yuri, but with shotas. Oh wait, you can't.

>More fucking yuri anime
Uuuuuuugh, someone kill me now, just do it.
I knew that Sakura Trick was gonna bring in a wave of yuri anime and kill yaoi anime in its cradle, and...well, it did.
But I bet that's what you guys all wanted anyway, so fuck me.

You do know that there's still Love Stage! this year, right? So if that does well there's a great chance for more BL anime. There's also the Sekaiichi Hatsukoi film.
In any case, I like yuri too so that's nice. ^^

I absolutely love this series (even if there are only two chapters translated so far)! It sucks it's only getting a short anime. Still, I'll be waiting for it!

So hopefully we won't see those people saying they won't watch this commeting in the show's future threads? :D
I think we will see them, you know how this works.
