Anime Director Toriumi Hisayuki Passes Away

Yomiuri Online reported that anime director Toriumi Hisayuki passed away on January 23rd. He was 67 years old. Toriumi entered Tatsunoko Productions in 1966 and took part in the direction of "Speed Racer". He was selected as the general director of "Gatchaman" in 1972. Oshii Mamoru and Mashimo Koichi studied the direction of anime under him.
