One Pece volume 67 finally broke the usual 3 mil, but it's probably over by now, since we're getting quite far away from the Marineford arc and timeskip. I predict for a while they'll get 2-2,5 mil, which is still amazing.

Assassination Classroom is doing astonishing!

SAO dominating the Novel Charts once again.

Nice to see Kuroshitsuji up there. I am enjoying the hell (no pun intended) out of it. I had no idea what I was missing.

Wonder what "Hanasakeru Seishounen: Tokubetsu-hen" is about... Seemed quite popular, being no.6 in the list.. The girl on the avatar of this title's MAL page looks like she has some Laginay (Raginei?) blood.. She gives off an aura that is similar to as Lumati and Kajika..

Wow Sword Art Online is dominating the Light Novels sales!!

Ohh and "Yume no Shizuku Ougon (kin) no Kago" is quite popular! Well it is written by Chie Shinohara... I can't wait to read this, looks interesting!

3 cheers for AssClass! I'm glad it's doing so well. Matsui definitely has a knack for creating unique stories and characters. I think that's the whole charm of it- it's a fresh concept amongst all the other shounen manga out there, wth likeable characters. (Hopefully the popularity of it will get more people to look into Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro again, which IMO deserved to be way more popular.)

Nice for One Piece, SKET Dance and Nisekoi!

As expected from One Piece.

And.... Ansatsu Kyoushitsu?! I didn't know why this series sell's well. I mean, this series has random story and with strange creature protagonist...

Well.. Still can't get why ASSCLASS is so popular, but definitely good manga.
I think that in half a year we'll already have an anime adaptation, or announcement.

Kangoku Gakuen doing pretty well. Good manga. Laughed really hard while reading it.

Maybe it's just the author, maybe the japanese love sick humour like children assassinating octopi, though I'm probably guessing it's the former.

Maybe the name of the manga contributed. Even in English if I see a manga people are calling ASSCLASS, I absolutely HAVE to check that manga out.

I don't know if I am allowed to ask this here, but what type of manga is AssClass? Is it meant to be comedic?
Yea it's comedy most of the time with some action, check its page for reviews and the synopsis.

Kangoku gakuen is one of the many defintions of "fucked up", not sure how the heck it managed to even sell. that shit is weird.
It's not really selling that well, but the art and the comedy is really good, though the taken to another level ecchi can get a bit disturbing..

The cover of the first volume is unique, it attracts a lot of people. Another interesting thing in the manga is the word-play, which Japanese would find more fun and interesting than those who are reading translated versions, though just take a look at the examples we as non-japanese understood (mostly due to the translator notes at the end of each chapter); "Korostiano Ronaldo" or "Bitch-sensei" (whose name end with vich), it's really a fun read, not to mention its uniqueness, character-development after just a couple of chapters, potential and interesting concept.

Does anyone know if Oricon still counts sales if a LN were to find itself outside the Top 50 or not?
For BD/DVD, I heard that Oricon still counts sales when a BD/DVD is in the Top 100/300 (doesn't make the Tuesday list as a result). The Thursday lists shows up to 50/100 right? So I assume it might work the same for manga/LN...

Yes, it should work the same way. Here's the 5th volume of the Kotenbu series (Hyouka etc) for example:

July 23-29
44位 41位 *7回 **7,814部 *95,404部 12/06/22 **45日 ふたりの距離の概算

September 17-23
46位 **位 14回 **7,759部 143,523部 12/06/22 **94日 ふたりの距離の概算

It did not make the Top 50 between the end of July and mid-late September, but ranked all but one of those weeks (7→14) and added on 50k when it came back.

I just don't know what the lower bound is for novels. At least 100 I'd assume.

Ahhh that's pretty interesting. So does that mean that SAO v1 is missing ~91 weeks of sales data (assuming there is a lower bound in sales counting) since it's been out for ~1314 days (~188 weeks) and has charted 97 times (not all in Top 50 obviously)?

So v1 finally past 500k sales on Oricon. Almost reached 100 `times' charted on the weekly lists as well.

v9 and v10 fail to chart for the 7th week and the 4th week in a row respectively.

I wonder if the 13th volume of Eva is really the last like Sadamoto planned.
