According to Shounen Ace magazine's October issue, two parody manga of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, "The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi-chan" and "Nyoro-n Tyuruya-san", will be animated and aired on Kadokawa's Youtube Channel.
"The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi-chan" is a self-parody comedy manga written by Nagaru Tanigawa (story) and Puyo (art).
"Nyoro-n, Tyuruya-san" is originally a doujin manga written by Eretto.

I heard about these recently and was hoping for KyoAni's involvement to be announced. Hopefully they'll use the airing of these series as vehicles for a Disappearance announcement.

Speaking of which, DVDs always need some good extras included to entice viewers. Haruhi S2 DVDs + Churuya shorts + Haruhi-chan shorts, perhaps?

It's better than nothing, but pretty sure it's not better than a quicker s2 release.

According to NewType magazine Oct issue, the production company of "The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi-chan' & "Nyoro-n Tyuruya-san" is confirmed to be Kyoto Animation. The director is Takemoto Yasuhiro (the director of Lucky Star).
Souce:

Takemoto-san... you are the director of Haruhi 2. Do you really have extra time to work on one more title?

I imagine these anime will be rather short, similiar to chocolate underground or Eve no jikan length. Not really anything that will significantly hinder Kyoto Animation.
I cannot imagine chibi-fied side-anime any longer than 10 mins, and i can barely stand Lucky Star.

I am happy as long as I get 48 episodes of KyoAni every year.

those japanese know how to make good anime... the only problem is they cant make a continuing series to run properly to save their lives.

...with a few exceptions to the rule of course.

but then again japanese and worldwide otakus will just end up screaming "filler" if they try to make stuff up. So i blame the anime watchers of the world for this delay.

Sigh. Well, I guess it's not bad to have these while we wait for the second season. But I do wish they hurry it up.

rofl; I never thought we'd get the 'nyoro~n' thing as an anime.
I'll properly watch it just for a laugh :D
Although I'd still like to see more of the Haruhi story ... I guess only the future will tell.

Kyoto animation done the job quite well for Haruhi Suzumiya series, FMP, kanon, air, and clannad. I really can trust their work. I also cannot wait for FMP. I really like that series.

I going to watch it anyway while waiting for kyoAni to release the season 2...

Forget this, forget Haruhi 2, forget Clannad, forget Summer 801.

Where the heck is FMP Season 4? Honestly all these shows are just more fillers that delay the inevitable awesome that is FMP.

QFT

Except Clannad maybe xD but for me Haruhi is overrated and fillers to the annoyed fans for the delay of Haruhi 2 sounds a bit exaggerated for me o_o

And FMP Third Raid!!!!! please announce a new FMP series!!! with so much novels there are so much material and isnt too hard of being animated like a new Haruhi (difficult for the novel style and make sth better like Haruhi 1 for the fans)
If Kyoto doesnt hurry another studio win that new FMP season like Kyoto did with Gonzo in the past!! MOAR FMP PLEASE!!

Edit: I just read the second page and see that announcement *-* That will be great! a large FMP series for close all the story! I'll be waiting for that *_*

Kouta~

Whaaa? D: I suppose so.
Does this mean, or rather, so they have cancelled ever animating "The Dissaperance of Suzumiya Haruhi,"? I'd really like to see that animated. :|

As long as Haruhi herself isn't it then I'm fine with it. Annoying ugly tsundere bitch.

Gatou sensei, the novel author of FMP, said the production of new series of FMP will start when the final volume of the novel is published. This statement makes the situation of FMP better than Haruhi2, which has no concrete information about the airing schedule so far.
