According to Shounen Ace magazine's October issue, two parody manga of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, "The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi-chan" and "Nyoro-n Tyuruya-san", will be animated and aired on Kadokawa's Youtube Channel.
"The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi-chan" is a self-parody comedy manga written by Nagaru Tanigawa (story) and Puyo (art).
"Nyoro-n, Tyuruya-san" is originally a doujin manga written by Eretto.

I speculate these two short anime are the filler for the awfully delaying Haruhi season2.

Maybe

But you have to say, Kyo-ani's probably under a lot of pressure...I mean, SH2 has to somehow match SH X@

Either way, those two are something to be expected

Is Kyoani going to to make them or it will be done by someone else?

Definitely it's better than nothing but all those delays with release of the second season of Haruhi are becoming more and more irritating. At least it sounds more promising than that yaoi fangirl story that Kyoani announced for 2009.

I'd rather KyoAni didn't make them. It'd mean I'd have to wait longer for SH2. Still it'll be an interesting watch.

The airing schedule of Tonari no 801-chan holds the key for the Haruhi 2. CLANNAD after story is 26-episode series, so it'll end in Mar 2009. So the possible airing orders are
1. Spring: Haruhi2, Summer: 801
Rather optimistic idea. The schedule is harmfully tight.
2. Spring: Haruhi-chan, Summer: Haruhi2, Autumn: 801
Ideal case.
3. Summer or Autumn: 801, Haruhi-chan fills the whole year and no Haruhi2 in 2009.
NIGHTMARE.

The more Haruhi the better, the Tsuruya-san one sounds like it'll be good as well.

Spin-off stuff is cool and all and online Anime is an interesting concept but I'm not confident that we need more Haruhi >.>
I guess this is to appease the fans while they wait.

Ditto~

I'll just patiently wait for my Haruhi 2, instead of this crap spin-off that's not even based of the light novels. ^_^

Forget this, forget Haruhi 2, forget Clannad, forget Summer 801.

Where the heck is FMP Season 4? Honestly all these shows are just more fillers that delay the inevitable awesome that is FMP.

Well I hear that KyoAni are leaving FMP 4 to later, so they can animated the rest of the story in one go. ^_^

Gatou sensei, the novel author of FMP, said the production of new series of FMP will start when the final volume of the novel is published. This statement makes the situation of FMP better than Haruhi2, which has no concrete information about the airing schedule so far.

Does this mean, or rather, so they have cancelled ever animating "The Dissaperance of Suzumiya Haruhi,"? I'd really like to see that animated. :|

QFT

Except Clannad maybe xD but for me Haruhi is overrated and fillers to the annoyed fans for the delay of Haruhi 2 sounds a bit exaggerated for me o_o

And FMP Third Raid!!!!! please announce a new FMP series!!! with so much novels there are so much material and isnt too hard of being animated like a new Haruhi (difficult for the novel style and make sth better like Haruhi 1 for the fans)
If Kyoto doesnt hurry another studio win that new FMP season like Kyoto did with Gonzo in the past!! MOAR FMP PLEASE!!

Edit: I just read the second page and see that announcement *-* That will be great! a large FMP series for close all the story! I'll be waiting for that *_*

Kouta~

Kyoto animation done the job quite well for Haruhi Suzumiya series, FMP, kanon, air, and clannad. I really can trust their work. I also cannot wait for FMP. I really like that series.

I going to watch it anyway while waiting for kyoAni to release the season 2...

rofl; I never thought we'd get the 'nyoro~n' thing as an anime.
I'll properly watch it just for a laugh :D
Although I'd still like to see more of the Haruhi story ... I guess only the future will tell.

those japanese know how to make good anime... the only problem is they cant make a continuing series to run properly to save their lives.

...with a few exceptions to the rule of course.

but then again japanese and worldwide otakus will just end up screaming "filler" if they try to make stuff up. So i blame the anime watchers of the world for this delay.

I imagine these anime will be rather short, similiar to chocolate underground or Eve no jikan length. Not really anything that will significantly hinder Kyoto Animation.
I cannot imagine chibi-fied side-anime any longer than 10 mins, and i can barely stand Lucky Star.

According to NewType magazine Oct issue, the production company of "The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi-chan' & "Nyoro-n Tyuruya-san" is confirmed to be Kyoto Animation. The director is Takemoto Yasuhiro (the director of Lucky Star).
Souce:

Takemoto-san... you are the director of Haruhi 2. Do you really have extra time to work on one more title?

I heard about these recently and was hoping for KyoAni's involvement to be announced. Hopefully they'll use the airing of these series as vehicles for a Disappearance announcement.

Speaking of which, DVDs always need some good extras included to entice viewers. Haruhi S2 DVDs + Churuya shorts + Haruhi-chan shorts, perhaps?
