Anime production studio Drop has apologized that one of its contract staff Tomita Yuji had made inappropriate posts on 2channel BBS about the production status of Area no Kishi. Tomita also apologized that he had made a tremendous trouble to the staff and the companies involved. Tomita was the episode director of the fifth episode of the TV anime.

From January 16th - 18th, Tomita complained on a 2channel thread for production managers that the director Ogura Hirofumi had been making unreasonable demands to fix the background arts and the key animations. He said the production studio Ascension had gave up mediating between Ogura and the subcontractor Drop, and they forced Drop to follow Ogura's selfish orders. Tomita criticized that the storyboards of Ogura were so poorly drawn that the episode directors had been struggling to figure out what Ogura intended to describe.

In the apology statement, Drop said Tomita's remarks were false and the offensive posts by other 2channel users against Ogura were defamations. They have already reported the case to the police and been ready to file a lawsuit.

Tomita should had suggest his opinion in front of Ogura and have all people's agreement on it .Writing bullshit in 2channal is not the appropriate way, he should had write it on his own personal diary if he is too butthurt on the matter .His action is a bit childish if you ask me .

inb4 everyone apologizes to everyone and they all say how unfortunate and regrettable the whole thing was. Typical Japanese bullshit, none of them have the balls to back up their criticism.

Quoting is for expanding on someone else's thoughts, not +1-ing. Chains removed.

WTB mod to delete all the chain quote trash. Seriously guys chain quoting isn't cool, if you have nothing to add don't post at all.

Anyways this seemed like a pointless bit of drama.

So among other things, Tomita is saying that Ogura is crappy at storyboarding. That's pretty funny.

They must be really bad. Usually I have such difficulty trying to figure out anime storyboard scribbles to begin with. His storyboards must look like unconnected lines on a page. Lol
