I know everyone loves the later theme but the very first Lupin theme will be stuck in my head forever. I'm very glad to hear Lupin the Third is getting somewhat of another chance in America.

Cool, this is another opportunity to add an older show to my shelve.

This I approve of. Wonder whether this'll follow on with licenses for any other older shows...

Seems these days companies just pick up really recent stuff. I'm pretty OK with that, but it'd be nice to see some older classics get released as well.

That's part 2, the one where Lupin wears a red jacket and has the famous theme composed by Yuuji Oono.

This is the lesser-known part 1 that's being licensed. Here, Lupin wears a green jacket and a different opening is used (which basically consists of "Lupin the Third" being repeated over and over again).

So, the latter half of 2011 is when the lesser known licensors are finally starting to rear their head, eh?

That's already a more sensible acquisition than anything Maiden Japan decided to go for, despite it's age. Lupin is an iconic anime. I notice it's the "green jacket" series they acquired, I'm not sure about the status of the "red jacket" series (AKA Part 2 on this site), seeing as a few episodes of that were localised already

It would be nice if they licensed some other old-school gems like Rose of Versailles too. They need more exposure.

If only they'd release it on Blu-Ray, too... Oh well. That's 30 GB's I don't need on my laptop, as I definitely plan on buying it :v
