According to FNN News, a 24 year old blue-collar worker was arrested for posting threatening comments to Hirano Aya on 2channel BBS. Tokyo Metropolitan Police said he has already confessed to the crime. He had been complaining about Fuji TV's variety program Pikaru no Teiri, which Hirano Aya appeared in, and posted "I killed Hirano Aya", "She is dead", "I'll blast Fuji TV to terminate her program." on 2channel and twitter last April and May.

Was that really a death threats tough? He said he killed her, not that he will kill her.

That is such a pedantic distinction to try to make though. When someone is sending you tweets multiple times a day saying "死ね死ね死ね死ね死ね" ad nauseum, that's kind of fucked up no matter the verb tense. It's so wasteful to try to defend that kind of thing.

I'm not defending him, i'm just saying that jail is a bit excessive in this case.
If it wasn't for Hirano Aya being the target this story would never have been told and the guy would have ended up with a warning.

@ light:
Hate bring nothing that's true yet everyone hate something.
Well in this case 'hate' is a big strong. I do not hate Hirano Aya, I despise her.
As for the object of my hate it is no worst of better than the object of your hate, simply because it coincide with what you like does not mean that my hate is worst than yours.
Everyone hate something, don't try to look like a messiah that love everything.

Anyhow, I don't want to interrupt your conversation, but let me express my opinion, I think this, all sick fandom and hate should cease, really, I, myself, don't like her, but I just ignore her and that's it, you won't get anywhere by trying to troll her on internet or something else, so why put meaningless effort into something that isn't even worthwhile and profitable, really? The arrested guy is obviously mentally ill and should be treated as soon as possible and this is a good example what anime, manga and other stuff can do if your mentality, will isn't strong enough, if you are really disappointed in life this will even add a fire to the fuel, anyways, I hope someone understood me, oh also I want to add something, especially for Hypno-girl if she wouldn't mind, yes, you can hate her, but that good will it bring?Willl you get something from it?Or do you do it for your self satisfaction?Out of boredom, maybe?I, personally, can't stand all shit what I see on TV or any other brainwashing stuff, but still I don't whine about it and just ignore it, about trolling, even if its just trolling, the person should understand that the world isn't going around him and just because he is not outside of his house he can't go to the internet and write this ridiculous stuff, if I were to go and write a joke to some country's president and write stuff like that, could it be still counted as trolling, no?Also I like to state one thing, every person is equal in their rights, beliefs, religion etc. So if President would be treated like that it would be okay to arrest a guy, but if just a mere seiyuu it's not that big deal, my verdict is : you don't like her like me, ignore her, it's not like she always pops up in your TV, just quit reading articles from Sankaku or wherever you get news about her, and the person who got arrested, got what he deserved, I say he could get at least a year in prison to think over what is life to him that, maybe that would do good for him. Anyways, he is 24 years old and can't understand simple thing like that? Something is seriously wrong with him.
Sorry for my TL;DR post and my terrible grammar as you can suspect I'm not native English speaker, just expressed my opinion, I hope my post won't attract unasked attention or trolls.

Can't we just hate Hirano aya for what she is? An idiotic woman that think she is the best in her area and think the world resolve about her?

You can, although I think it misguided and stupid - and a waste of time. Really, "fandom" started all this crap by flipping out originally when she dared to be something other than their docile, obedient little virtual idol "girlfriend". Remember all the idiots on 2ch smashing CDs and crying about what a betrayal it was that she wasn't their idealized virgin goddess? After the reaction that got, she's pretty much entirely justified in trolling such self-centered and socially-inept people (although the supposed "trolling" is exaggerated).

In any event, what shouldn't be acceptable under any circumstances are death threats or the acceptance/support of those that make them.

Idc about her having a bf or two or even three if she want, I'm not commenting on her life but her attitude. That is two different things.
Was that really a death threats tough? He said he killed her, not that he will kill her. This is more of a big troll than actual threats.

Honestly, I find people who hate her pitiful.

Some of her haters really represent the worst, darkest, most embarrassing side of otakudom. They move from mere constructive criticism of her acting to personal attacks on her character, originating from her "daring" to have a life of her own and not pretending to be a girlfriend to all her fans.

So-called fans treating a real woman as a 2D possession. People feeling "betrayed" when a seiyuu gets married or has a boyfriend. It's thoroughly disgusting.

She was my favorite seiyuu for a time, but I can't blame her for moving away from anime. I'd do the same if I were in her position. Here's hoping this guy gets more than just a light slap on the wrist. This shit is unacceptable.

Lol @ all the people that like her for her seiyu role, of course she is a great seiyu and she is a good singer but we don't hate her for that, we hate her for dat ego of her.

While i'm not a Hirano fan, I'm amazed at the hate towards her for only having a problematic life. And lets be honest, who doesn't have one. That, and the fact that she's famous, or rather infamous, wich sounds like jealousy. But most likely, this guy must be one of those deluded otakus who blames her for spoiling the "perfect" and innocent idol image. I can't really undestand that, and seems kind of crazy in my opinion.
