These shounen titles share the following similarities: a prevalent conflict between two organisations; characters who fight using unique abilities; a sense of comradery amongst groups within one organisation; and a rather bleak and gothic setting.

They both have the same feel and comedy. Soul Eater is about shinigami's and One Piece is about pirates but their comedy and the idea of pushing ones self to be great is seen in both mangas. If you like One Piece you will defintely like Soul Eater and vice versa.

Made by the same author, Soul Eater and Enen no Shouboutai (Fire Brigade of Flames) has a familiar artwork and style with its characters. The main protagonist has a tomboyish personality but is sincere with their actions to help others. In addition, they have skills to fight against supernatural forces that threatens their world/society. Both series are known for their shounen style action with a bit of mystery involving the strange phenomenons in the story.

In a world where supernatural beings lie, Soul Eater and Noragami delivers an experience associated with them and the characters involved. If you're into stylish battles featuring characters that can transform into weapons, then these two series might spark your interest. Along with that gimmick, there's also a decent amount of comedy, plot development, and character relationships. Throughout both series, we see how the main characters develop through their experience with other characters, flashbacks, and the conflict they deal with in the present and future.

The context of both series are highly similar. Both feature organisations that are in conflict against witches. There are also strong horror references throughout the two.

Has the same feel to it. The characters aren't really weak to begin with; Blood Lad being boss of the area and Soul+Maka and the rest being all top of the class. Same art too (from my view), except for the obvious trademarks to each.

The similarities in these two series are profound. First, the setting is dictated by two groups. In Ao no Futsumashi, we have the humans against the demons. In Soul Eater, we have the meisters against the witches. Second, due to the uniqueness of the characters featured in both series, we are introduced to different fighting styles characterised by weapons, spells, and physical poweress. Third, the general asthetic is relatively similar.
reportRecommended by radiantfire
Both shows the characters have partners to use in between battles. And have the same type of super powers they are using. Similar comedy moments. Both Characters has the exact same type of personalities compared to Soul Eater.

Both Soul Eater and Rust Blaster play with the idea of people being able to turn in to weapons. With Rust Blaster, transformation is a little different, though. But if you like fight scenes like that, then one manga is just as interesting as the other. Rust Blaster and Soul Eater also have the theme of not losing yourself, of fighting forces out of the character’s control and staying true to themselves. Although Soul Eater doesn’t have vampires in it, and Rust Blaster does, I think if you like one, you should give the other one a read. If Rust Blaster lovers are looking for  read more

Bleach is akin to Soul Eater in that they both feature characters with unique weapons and abilities. They are also set with a premise involving grim reapers.

Same author. There are some similarities with the characters. Same with the plot. Both are good stories!

They are action mangas about witches influenced by Ancient Greek mythology (Medusa and the gorgon sisters) and also have plenty of comedy.
reportRecommended by BlindNoldor
Both shounen action/adventure series. Both have humans that become weapons wielded by other humans. They both have similar comedy.
reportRecommended by Detrimont
Both are shouen manga with a similar atmosphere. They deal with supernatural powers that are a common part of their societies, and they often bring up the topic of souls. Both series have two main characters who share a deep bond with each other. They both also have comic relief, exciting action, and with a character who attacks whoever insulted them (Ed when he's called "short", Maka uses her "Maka chop"). Edward and Maka are also similar characters.
reportRecommended by Fastesthe1
Both are supernatural themed shounen manga with a bit of horror stuff (death, dark arts...) added, setting of Necromancer gives quite similar feel like Soul Eater, although it's more "episodic" in plot. If you like S.E. you will probably like Nec.

Similarities + Great Art; seriously whether it be facial expressions, movement, action, both are easy on the eyes. + Can use style over substance as a descriptor but not in a derogatory way. + Excel at visual portrayals of madness. + Elements of body horror ( humanoid bodies being twisted into something non-human). + Subplots of characters bodies being invaded/corrupted by foreign substances. + Some characters tend to be creepy cute. Differences - Soul Eater has a supernatural gothic motif while Dolly Kill Kill is science fiction with a fleshy motif due to extraterrestrials invasion. - Soul Eater has a typical shounen set-up and sticks with  read more

These series have rather unique art styles and can get rather violent, but I'll at least say that the characters in both series are understandable and relatable. The humor in both series is rather similar too if anyone is interested.

Both mangas are set in a fantasy world. Soul eater's art might not even compete with Berserk but I'm here for that. what each manga hold and has thru the series is something they want to protect, something they value. Each character in Soul Eater has a goal in mind but meaning they'll face some struggles, but struggling is what keeps someone moving forward.

Jujutsu Kaisen sort of feels like a slightly more grown-up version of Soul Eater. Both have a fun cast of quirky characters and lots of funny dialogue. These series both also manage to incorporate their humor into a story with a lot of more serious action and horror elements, without sacrificing the drama of those more serious elements.

The two features a heavy amount of action and a bunch of comedy. Both being a fun read if you like em.
reportRecommended by Tyujg
Is similar in the rate of the action obviously not eiyh that power that atsushi ohkubo gave to soul eater, but growing better when the manga goes on the stroy has nothing similar but some characters has some similars towards some of soul eater

Similar artstyle, cool main girls, great action, lots of blood

If you're into the neuroticism and breaching sanity given through bits of Soul Eater and crave something more intense, Elfen Lied might be a good route.
reportRecommended by Corruptbomber
If your in the Halloween spirit, then either manga series is right for you! The locations of interest are schools that feature not so ordinary human beings.
reportRecommended by pottercourt
Both manga can get rather naughty but yet funny, although they aren't afraid to get dark and violent at times. And both series also show a certain gray area of good and evil.
reportRecommended by OnyxSaiyan
These manga are about madness in some form. They also have interesting visual styles.
reportRecommended by abystoma2
In both the main enemy is a human-monster that drains energy from the people in Busou Renkin and cause people to become mad in Soul Eater.
reportRecommended by BlindNoldor
This manga has the same mission "Eat Soul" but in Million Tears, people whose soul eat by the Characters not only lost his/her life but also forgotten by everybody

The similarities between these two shows come in the form of the tone... Both are dark and the amungst the more 'mature' shounen's avaliable: - we don't simply see a 'fountain of blood' to maintain a 'horror' element, there is actual graphic scenery - there we have crudeness present in both which doesn't rely on your typical cases of half naked ladies We don't have a single 'be all and end all' safe hero: - the 'good guys' aren't particullarly angelic - minors and new cast members establish themselves - 'bad guys' get their fair share of attention when not facing off against 'the hero's'

Both are stylish shounen manga that present themselves as light-hearted, but regularly turn grim. Soul Eater has a halloween kind of theme that occasionally goes overboard while Akame ga Kill! has vivid displays of corruption and a rule saying if "Teigu" users fight, one will always die. They also both feature a particular city as the main location and most villains range from twisted to oh god what. Akame ga Kill! is still quite a bit more down to earth than Soul Eater, but in return, it's also harsher.

When I first started reading Soul Eater, my first thoughts were "this reminds me of Jing" and it does. The art is unique and eccentric looking as Jing. The characters are also reminiscent of Jing, level headed hero (or heroine in Soul Eater) and the womanizing, sarcastic companion that's doubles as a weapon. If you enjoy the odd adventures of Maka and Soul, I think you'd also enjoy Jing and Kir's travels through a peculiarly similar world.
reportRecommended by PF
Reapers and the darkness (or lack thereof) of the soul play an important part in the plot.
reportRecommended by Numi
Soul Eater is a little bit darker, but there are some similarities, the art styles are very similar.
reportRecommended by Em_Leingod
Both these manga's are supernatural, dark yet comical and both feature a demonic* male leads with shark teeth who enjoys eating souls -litterally, however, teamwork is nessessary in order for the series to be what it is. The two then contrast... Hell's Kitchen has a basic plot; becoming a head chef, whilst Soul Eater has a complex plot that consists of facing off aginst powerful, supernatural evil.
reportRecommended by Gleam_Queen
Diabolo and Soul Eater have a story surrounding a set of two people fighting against an evil force that's threatening the world. Some characters similarities can be drawn as well: Rai (Diabolo) with Stein (SE) and Ren (Diabolo) with Spirit with be the closest, but Ren and Rai aren't exactly like Spirit and Stein - just in certain parts.
reportRecommended by FourEyedPandora
The stories are not very alike but they both have supernatural elements. Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro with, it's wonderfully funny sadistic demon and Soul Eater, with it's witches and people being about to change into weapons. If you like one you'll like the other is that the art styles are similar. Not exact but close enough to remind me of each other when reading.
reportRecommended by Gwen-chan
They deal with souls and their purification after death. There are a organization that deals with the souls, and they form a team of a human and a living weapon.
reportRecommended by BlindNoldor
Both Yumekui Merry and Soul Eater have very similar art styles. They also have the same surreal aspect to them. I strongly believe that if you liked one that you'd like the other. Irrelevantly; their names are about eating certain aspects of the human psyche.
reportRecommended by 5oulcrusher
The two series are similar to each other, with the main characters working in pairs and some of the character design and personalities.
reportRecommended by cursebreaker
- In both manga there's 1 (or multiple) weapon(s) with an own will. - There also seem to be 'dark powers' in both manga. - Both manga are about students at an academy (to fight).
reportRecommended by SD_CV
In both Soul Eater and in Deadman Wonderland the characters are forced to struggle against insanity. While Deadman Wonderland is by far a darker tale, its twisted carnival setting sort of reminded me of the punk/halloween like style portrayed in Soul Eater.
reportRecommended by RaggedClaws
Soul Eater and Sousei no Onmyougi follows a different premise but both unites destiny with the main protagonists. The female protagonist is strong in their story and strives to improve themselves every day. There's also a similar personality with the main male protagonists as they share a complicated relationship with their partners. Both series has a lot of action, supernatural content, and a bit of mystery. There's also background story that connects the characters together. Recommended for fans of supernatural shounen.
