Synopsis

Lost to history and buried under the ashes of its ruin, the ancient city of Pompeii was once home to many great warriors. High school student Keidai Saeki is the reincarnation of Sirix, one of these warriors, and he retains the memories of his past life.

While at school, Keidai does not openly share the truth of his memories. The only one aware of them is his best friend, Mii Serizawa. In her past life, before the destruction of Pompeii, Serizawa was Loleus, Sirix's male best friend. However, unlike Loleus who felt nothing more than brotherly affection for Sirix, Serizawa is in love with Keidai.

Unaware of Serizawa's feelings for him, Keidai yearns for Serena, his wife from his past life. But his hopes of their romantic reunion are dashed by the arrival of his new neighbor, Yuuma Ujoh. Though he does not remember, Yuuma is the reincarnation of Serena, and he has fallen for Serizawa! Plagued by Sirix's memories and regrets, Keidai must choose to remain in the past or pursue a new future.

Tokyopop's parting gift to the manga community was the release of the final volume of this most wonderful series, shortly before they ceased to exist. NG Life is not the usual shoujo mush, nor is it just another romantic comedy destined to be forgotten shortly after being read. It is a work that poses the sort of introspective questions essential to all-time classics being remembered as such.

- Can love survive the tests of time; can it even transcend death?
- Can one be forgiven for falling in love with another, after being separated from their beloved?

AHH! i loved this manga!!! i would die if they made it into an anime. it had lots of comedy, the best of romance, and just the right amount of heart wrenching!!! :)
the story was really unique, i mean im sure its been done plenty of times but never even close to the way this was! i love the characters quirky personalities, not your average girls or guys and even the relationships were different. but all in all the romance wasnt some shallow crap, your constantly laughing at the main character, and it was a fun and interesting story. loved it!!

NG Life is an earlier work of Mizuho Kasanagi, the mangaka of the popular Akatsuki no Yona. My friend actually recommended this manga to me a long time ago, but I dropped it after a few chapters because I couldn't get it. Recently, I saw it on a recommendation list with good reviews, so I decided to give it another go.
