This manga is pretty sneaky, I used to have it in my #3 spot in my Manga Favorites, but somehow it made its way up to #1? ;) So before I review this, let me just say, this manga is only amazing if you LOVE to laugh. Im not talking about a gag here and there, or a giggle that you can stifle if someones around. I mean the kind of laughing that gives you abs and makes your eyes water. So hide in your room, and bite a pillow before you start to read.
Story-10: I have read this manga countless(and i mean COUNTLESS) times,
...
and each time I read it, I wonder what it would be like to be inside the head of the author that wrote this.
To start with, the story has a unique outlook: a delinquent, who never intended to be a delinquent, forced to live the normal life shes actually always wanted. She gets this chance of a lifetime to turn her life around and wipe the slate clean, except before she can even start her new school, trouble comes walking in, and its and old familiar trouble from her past...
There's a subtle romance through the whole manga, just enough to keep you hooked but not enough to smother your anti-mushy readers. And one more thing, the story is just random enough that you never see what's coming next, so don't worry, this one will keep you guessing for sure.
Art-10: Maybe its only my personal opinion, since I suppose there's nothing that really stands out as AMAZING in this manga, but the art is really well done in my opinion. All of the expressions are perfectly hilarious and the movements are super funny! The timing is flawless, each pause in every conversation was drawn in a way that you can hear the witty banter in your head.
Characters-10: QUIRKY. Totally unique personalities that you absolutely cant help but to fall in love with! All of the characters are adorable and all of the delinquents are so funny and sweet. Yes, this is mainly a comedy manga, but don't think for one second that the characters are shallow. Even the ones that are supposed to be dumb are pretty damn insightful. If for some unknown reason you absolutely hate everything about this manga, I can almost guarantee you will completely love all of these characters.
Enjoyment-10: This, I thought, was probably the most enjoyable manga I've ever read. No, it absolutely was. PERIOD. I laughed harder reading this than any other manga I've ever read, and there were no missing elements at all. Nothing I could point out and say, "If it only had this, it would be perfect." Definitely in my top 5 favorite manga of all time! But currently? MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!
Overall-10: If you like reading not-so-typical rom-com's this is your new favorite, so please- READ IT!

This is an adorable and funny manga that I just happened upon on a manga site one day and decided to start. Its nothing to rave about since its chapters are pretty short and the story is nothing too out of the ordinary, but somehow its still something special.
Story-9: I like the storyline and the plot, even though its been done before and its simple, it fits well with the style of the author, and it flows. Hori is pretty popular, and Miyamura, well, isn't. But they cross paths when both of their secrets are out in the open, and slowly their lives begin to
...
change. There's romance, comedy, drama, and they all make for a great read.
Art-8: The manga is well drawn, there really isnt much to it to be honest, but for a simple manga, its just right. No complicated looking characters, no weird backgrounds, just simple.
Character-9: I actually really like the characters in Horimiya, I think they make the manga. Theyre a little quirky, a little awkward, and a little funny. They have different backgrounds but they are just normal school kids.
Enjoyment-9: I actually really enjoyed this manga. no matter how simple the story may be, I was still hoping to read more. It was very interesting, and im still currently waiting for updates!
Overall-8: I guess it seems like I didnt say much good about this manga, but im still telling you it was a good read :) if your bored pick it up! Its not so typical shoujo after all, I think its pretty great!

Noblesse- is it because its a manhwa? Since its not from japan, its not what you would expect? Honestly? I have absolutely no idea. All I know is that this manhwa is unlike any other vampire story Ive ever read, novels, manga, manhwa- this is definitely original, and great at that!
Story-10: Like I expressed before, the plot is most definitely not-your-average-bloodsucking-vampire-story. It actually took me a while to pick up this manhwa and read it. I had so many recommendations to read it already, but it just really wasn't piquing my interest. Then finally I picked it up. My first thought? "Umm, really?" I almost
...
put it down right then and there. The entire first chapter contains ABSOLUTELY nothing except for a vampire coming out of a sealed coffin and opening the blinds. No exaggeration. So even though I was clearly disappointed, somehow that ridiculous chapter triggered my curiosity. So of course, I read on. I will not go into detail about the plot or ruin the storyline for you, but I will say this. Take what you know about vampires, and leave it on the side of the road for someone else to pick up. Take all the cliche vampire movies and disassociate them when you refer to this manhwa. Just pick this up and start to read it; let it intrigue you.
Art-10: Maybe its because im used to reading manga that having color in the art on every page is a nice plus. The characters are very gorgeously drawn, and the action scenes are incredible. I think my favorite part about the art is how well it is able to portray the personalities of the characters; a simple glint in the eye can tell so much in this manhwa.
Character-9: There are several characters in this story that you will absolutely fall in love with, of that I have no doubt. The personalities are mysterious and constantly developing, exactly the kind of characters needed in a great manhwa. The abundance of characters makes things a little complicated, because of course, one always gets involved in something and then the whole group comes running behind, so to speak. Nevertheless, that doesn't make the story too predictable, there's always someone who pops up and intensifies the plot.
Enjoyment-9: At times the storyline can get a bit predictable. Bad guys come, good guys conquer, but I believe that this has less predictability in the plot itself then most manga/manhwa you will read. I couldnt put this down once I picked it up, I really thoroughly enjoyed the intensity of the plot and the subtle character development in this beautiful manhwa.
Overall-9: This was a great read! It still has a while before it ends and its currently a little under 300 chapters in. I would recommend this to anyone who's looking for an intense read that keeps you excited, pick it up! Be intrigued :)

Bleach has been in the top rated manga/anime charts for years, its success is even known by people who arent huge nerds like us ;). Being someone who has been reading and watching for most of my life, I was always a little curious as to what all the hype was about. Finally my curiosity got the best of me and I picked up the manga for the first time.
I didn't put it down. For all the popularity and discussion this was a read that definitely did not disappoint.
Story-10: The general idea of the story is about Ichigo, a high school boy who has a
...
particular ability, and also, well, a loud personality :). He, of course, encounters a life changing incident that takes him to unimaginable places, and leads him to make complicated decisions. The manga itself is over 500 chapters and supposedly not even halfway over yet. The development is a tad bit slow, but the plot is always interesting and the fighting is pretty intense. Its definitely a great shounen manga storyline, interesting enough to capture readers of all ages and gender.
Art-8: I suppose 8 is a bit harsh considering that the characters are pretty well drawn and there are some pretty epic designs for many of the characteristics in the manga. The characters were all very distinguishable and unique, and their clothing, weapons, and 'masks' were all awesome and drawn nicely. However, the backgrounds in the manga are usually pretty lacking, sometimes nonexistent, and since the manga started over a decade ago, the art is of course something that took time to improve. Overall the art is great, and I hope this doesn't deter you from reading this manga.
Character-9: There are so many interesting personalities in this manga! Very loyal friends, family that does anything for eachother, funny and serious characters, you name it! But that, I suppose, is the small flaw I find in the characters of this manga, there are SO many. The development of each one is absolutely perfect! They spend just enough time to let you get to know each character and a bit of their story. But with there being so many, you might come to like a character and then not see them for another 100 chapters. Once again, this really isn't something to worry about if your wondering if this manga is worth the read; all of the characters become part of the Bleach world that you will immerse yourself into as soon as you pick up the manga...
Enjoyment-9: I expected a bit more comedy, because everyone I asked to recommend me a funny manga told me Bleach. For me it was a little to shounen-ish and not enough comedy to suit my taste, but for anyone who loves action and being on the edge of your seat, you wont be disappointed!
Overall-9: This is exactly what your looking for in an action, shounen manga! The hype isn't for nothing, and even if it is overrated, its still a pretty amazing read! Make sure you have a long weekend and your fridge is stocked because once you pick it up, you wont put it down!

Most adorable one shot ever! too short!
So to start with, this one shot has a really different twist. a boy who can see the door to your heart-- what everyone is really thinking. So maybe its been done before, and maybe it wasnt so mysterious, but the story was cute, interesting, and absolutely sweet. the characters are really endearing and the art is well done! looking for a little romance to brighten your day---- read it!

First thing you need to know before reading this manga is that this is WAY better than the anime. I remember watching Skip Beat years ago and thinking it was decent, but the manga is a totally different story. Secondly, this IS an ongoing manga, and even though there's almost 200 chapters in it(so far) and its super amazing, we still haven't reached the climax- that in itself is exciting to me.
STORY: The story is amazing, but it actually starts out a seemingly very lame story haha. You start reading about this teenage girl who naively gave up everything to move to the city
...
with her childhood friend who's actually a famous popstar. He treats her horribly and she selflessly does everything just for him. It pisses you off just reading it. Then a turn of events and you watch this childish girl start to see reality. I suppose that its a bit slow with the romantic development, but that doesnt mean the romance is lacking. The comedy aspect of this manga is one of the best ive ever read in a rom-com. The dialogue in itself is great, but when coupled with their expressions and personalities, its priceless!
ART: This is a fairly old manga! The first volume was released over ten years ago so of course the art continually got better and better over time. Even starting out though the art was superb! Their 'slightly' exaggerated faces make you laugh super hard, and in the midst of all the gags, the serious scenes are drawn beautifully. This mangaka really has a way of drawing you in.
CHARACTER: By far their personalities are much much better than expected! I suppose saying it that way sounds bad but honestly I really had no idea what kind of characters to look forward to. They have a past and a future goal, and they are constantly looking for ways to improve themselves and reach toward their future. You see the characters grow and mature along the way and it interesting.
ENJOYMENT:
There's no mistake about it, this manga is a gem. You laugh, you smile, you hurt, you get mad, a story that makes you want to keep reading. I've read this through 3 times and each time I read it straight through without more than food breaks. That has to count for a lot.
OVERALL: READ IT!

This was probably the only oneshot ive ever read and thought it was superb! If this was made into a manga series I would be super happy!
Overall I gave this oneshot a 10, because the art was great, the characters were interesting and the story is cute! Since its only 1 chapter of course theres only so much you can do but all I know is by the end of the chapter, I had been drawn into the story

Before you read this review, please know that the manga is only 8 chapters in so depending on the rest of the story, the score may vary.
So far the score I gave the story is a 5. The way it was written, it almost seemed like the mangaka didnt know how to transition the story between a fantasy and slice-of-life. One minute your reading a normal school-environment-rom-com and the next, theres a random twist and its turned into this modern day fairy tale. The 5 might be a bit harsh, seeing as the storyline was semi-interesting, and at first I thought to myself "hmm, ok
...
thats interesting enough." To be honest though the modern day fairy tales are pretty common these days and the storyline was just a little TOO unbelievable.
The art was ok, and ill be generous and give it a 7. I thought it was a bit overdone with the shiny scenes and the roses and sparkle background, but to each his own. The characters were all cute so thats probably what gives it the extra points.
CHARACTERS-6. Now heres where I was torn. At first I was really into the characters, each guy had a different personality with some deep past and an interesting background story. The character interaction was cute and funny and it was good enough to get a high score from me, nothing amazing but still good. So somehow theres this reverse harem going on that involves 4 guys and one girl (which initially thats way too much imo) but i figured id go with it. Then they add in another girl, but she isnt involved with anyone, and then 3 more guys who probably like the main girl as well. so overall we have 2 girls and 7 guys that all like the one girl--- WAY TOO MUCH. Sorry, theres a point when a harem is just ridiculous.
Like I said before, this was cute and funny, and this had the potential to be a good manga, but my enjoyment level was probably around a 7, and overall I would have to give this manga a 6. Unless the story changes dramatically, I would say dont read it, it will just tire you out!

Wow, im really surprised this manga is so underrated. To me, super lovers redefined yaoi manga, and I really expected it to be a lot more viral than it actually is! The only thing I dont like is that this is an ongoing manga because im constantly waiting for more, but at the same time its like eh.. at least this great manga isnt over yet.
Story: Ive never really seen something quite like this before, just reading a synopsis it would seem so unremarkable, but it really catches you off guard . When it starts out its a little confusing and your not really
...
sure whats going on(or how it turns into bl), but trust me on this and keep reading. The plot has just about everything youve already seen in forbidden love, same sex, incest, age gap, and all the toppings that come with it, but somehow the mangaka managed to bring it all to life in a way that isnt like any other. The best part is that the story is on the verge of believable. Of course a manga is no fun if unbelievable things dont happen all the time, but everything about this manga feels so on the verge of realistic that it you find yourself drawn into the story even more.
Art: Honestly there are a lot of people that dont rate this manga as highly as I do, and to each his own. But I truly think that the art in SL deserves a 10/10 no matter who you are or what your opinion on this manga is. Im a big fan of Abe Miyuki, and the art in SL is the best shes ever done... the eyes, the expressions, bodies-- all super :) and super hott :3
Character: Even though the art is the 'best' aspect of this manga, the characters are my FAVORITE part, hands down. Yes theyre gorgeous, and of COURSE I drool, but their personalities just immediately force their way into your heart, whether it be with their scarred past or their quirky personalities. Its also pretty rare you find a good yaoi with such deep characters, not only well developed but also strong realistic personalities.
Enjoyment: YES! haha, what else can I say.
Overall: Forbidden love story with realistic characters that you will definitely fall in love with who just happen to be extremely sexy? I definitely recommend this manga, READ IT ^_^

This series is ongoing and honestly I wasnt going to rate it until they finished airing but i saw so many bad reviews i thought i should intervene at least for now. i will re-edit my review as more episodes air.
I actually started watching this anime because i absolutely love the manga 1/2 prince and i was looking for another manga like it and heard about SAO. then i found out it had an anime and i was curious. the storyline of SAO and 1/2 prince are very similar and i really love them both!
when i watch anime or read manga im always finding interesting
...
stories with crappy art and crappy characters, or the opposite where the characters and art are great but the story just sucks. especially in shounen anime or any action anime thats aiming for a younger audience(which in my opinion this is, but i like it anyway.)
in SAO, even though its kindof a kids anime, the story and characters are both pretty deep and interesting. you really get into it and want to watch the next episode. they throw in lots of little twists that keep you thinking and for whats its worth i enjoyed it. if your bored this is a great watch!
(please keep in mind that when reviewing this i was also considering the audience that this anime was directed towards-- i rated it accordingly)
