Blooming Love feels like a standard nerdy guy and tsundere girl romance at first, but it blooms into a wholesome story about 2 awkward people falling in love. While I did call Ibuki a nerd and Sugisaki a tsundere at first, they don't really fit into those tropes. They are more real and likable than that. A common trait they have is that they work hard in their passions. This makes them more relatable to us real people, who have to sacrifice and suffer to get ... things in life. The mistakes they make in romance are reasonable and natural, and the comedy is usually based on their lack of experience in love and life, leading to a very wholesome and chaotic chain of events.

Speaking of mistakes in love, both of them do have a "love coach". Sugisaki's friend, Himari, and Ibuki's friend, Taki, are both "normies", and they act as the voice of reason in both of protagonists love lives. Their advice is usually solid, but they do have their silly moments, and I love them. Some of my favorite moments are when these two act like a duo to make their friends' love life better.

I think this manga has a good future. We are currently 21 chapters into this, and I'm feeling that the author can pull off a good story.

Lovely little romance manga about a boy who likes to draw and a girl who likes to work with wood.
The art is super clean, especially when it comes to the hands, which is a must in a manga that shows a lot of woodcraft. It has a more grounded and realistic feel to it compared to many other romcoms such as Nagatoro, and the same goes for the character writing. The character expressions are still very expressive though and use the typical romcom symbol tools such as blushing and chibi versions of the characters for comedic effect, just much less frequently. I like this a ... lot, it shows that the mangaka has confidence in their drawing abilities. The backgrounds in particular have a very nice quality to them and are rich in detail but no overwhelmingly so. The art remains light on the eyes and easy to follow.

The two main characters are solid, especially the heroine. Despite her rough introduction she isn't overly tsundere at all, and it's refreshing to see one that isn't overly girly or tomboyish. She feels like a real person, and that's worth a lot in a shounen romance manga.
The male protagonist is solid but a bit atypical. He reminds me a lot of the protagonist of Nagatoro, though a bit more well-rounded and realistic.
The side characters, aka the two friends and the female protagonist's dad, are all very charming and compliment the two lead characters very well.
The progression is fast, almost worringly so. They become a pair very early on and thus the manga loses its main "cliffhanger" that is the backbone behind most other romance manga's popularity. Personally I don't mind the absence of the constant tease at all, I wouldn't even mind if it continued like it currently does with episodic dates, I just doubt the manga will survive that way for long.

Will see how this turns out but it's very nice so far. Hope this doesn't get axed.

There's not much to go off of but it shows a bit of potential to be a solid romance.

The MC and FMC are two very different people drawn together through the arts (woodworking, drawing, painting, etc.)
The FMC's backstory, to me at least, seems the tiniest bit vapid but fitting for her character. It helps to explain why she is the tsundere-ish tomboy type. The MC doesn't have a discernable backstory, yet, and is a definite work in progress in terms of character development. He's the shy, stuttery (I hate this) type but has some moments of collectedness.

Overall, for now, it's sweet, not overly in ... your face with some BULLSHIT forced romance, and has some quality art.
