Blooming Love feels like a standard nerdy guy and tsundere girl romance at first, but it blooms into a wholesome story about 2 awkward people falling in love. While I did call Ibuki a nerd and Sugisaki a tsundere at first, they don't really fit into those tropes. They are more real and likable than that. Lovely little romance manga about a boy who likes to draw and a girl who likes to work with wood.
The art is super clean, especially when it comes to the hands, which is a must in a manga that shows a lot of woodcraft. It has a more grounded and realistic feel to it compared to many other romcoms such as Nagatoro, and the same goes for the character writing. The character expressions are still very expressive though and use the typical romcom symbol tools such as blushing and chibi versions of the characters for comedic effect, just much less frequently.
