I find Madhouse name funny if I take it literally, cause why the house is mad and who made it that way.

None sound funny to me, but if I had to choose a few, I would say Shaft, Nut, & Donuts are the closest ones to sounding funny.

Studio Gonzo always makes me chuckle whenever I watch one of their early 2000's anime. Their adlib for the name is weirdly memorable for me.

The only studio that comes to mind off the top of my head is definitely Nut.

I remember watching the "Saga of Tanya the Evil" and seeing this unfamiliar Studio name for the 1st time and busted out laughing automatically think of Jizz. It's really not that funny of a Studio name, it's just I have always had a dirty mind and perverted sense of humor kind of like Iketeru Daga does from "Life Lessons with Uramichi-Oniisan". lol

I also busted out laughing seeing the Anime studio Lay-duce the same way back in the mid 2010s, but still think the studio named 'Nut' is funnier. lol

No, I don't think I know anything that wasn't mentioned already, but Shaft & Nut should do a collab :P

I also have some additional context for thinking Shaft's name is funny :) since my 1st Shaft anime was Madoka Magica, and I didn't like it at all, I used to joke that Shaft "shafted" me :p but sure, it can be funny even without the context lol thankfully, Bakemonogatari then entered my life in all of its glory, and I started to appreciate many of Shaft's tricks that I hated in Madoka Magica (like those “Shaft shots” that fucking annoyed me in Magoka Magica, but I absolutely loved them in Bakemonogatari, and other aspects, both related to cinematography and other things). That's my personal Shaft lore so far that no one asked for lol

And that name seems to be consistent with MAL average rating as well :p

I feel like I'm getting it...but not sure lol is my mind actually not dirty enough to immediately get it? I'm ashamed of myself! I need to ask for some clarification on this one, if you don't mind :p

I like the Shaft tricks used in Madoka Magica, Monogatari, and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. The only thing I dislike about Madoka is the writing and character designs. Anime in which I dislike the Shaft tricks include ef, Nisekoi, and March Comes in Like a Lion. Madoka was my 1st Shaft anime too, and I felt the same way you did about the studio's name.

@Lucifrost there also may be a direct connection between me disliking Madoka Magica's designs and not liking Shaft tricks in it :) I absolutely hated looking at Kyouko's expressions, for example, so it's no wonder that I called those zoomed-in shots on character faces as "cringe shots" - they sure felt like that to me! I already don't want to see her on the screen and dislike her design and character, but the anime just rubs it in by zooming in an "edgy" way lol but yeah, regardless of any connections, I agree about the writing and character designs (even though for me it was more of a complex negative experience that I can't fully rationalize, with the exception of Yuki Kajiura's soundtrack).

The word 'Deuce' is an uncommon slang term for consuming alcohol while driving. Where it is basically pronounced the same way as 'duce'. So when just saying it out loud, 'Lay-deuce' sounds like a new slang term for shagging while driving while also consuming alcohol at the same time. lol

Also taking a 'deuce' is another slang term for taking a shit. Which is basically pronounced the same ways as 'duce'. I don't think I need to explain more. lol

@ColourWheel ah, it was a language thing after all. Thanks for explaining :p since English is not my native language, and that slang also looks unfamiliar, I couldn't make those connections :) my initial assumptions were totally false, but at least there were some liquid substances involved lol

Language can be a tricky thing when it comes to slang. Even though I am technically illiterate when it comes to reading or writing in the Japanese language, I can still speak and understand the language fluently due to my own experiences growing up and consider English my Native language over Nihongo and even Korean Hanguk-eo. Because I have lived most of my life in North America while I grew up in Osaka Japan as a child but was born in Seoul Korea.

Where I end up busting out laughing when seeing silly Westerners with Tattoos in Kanji where even I can recognize something like "豆腐" stamped on their lower back basically means "Rancid Beans" or "Tofu". Knowing the woman probably has no clue what they got tattooed on them. lol

This type of thing also reminds me of seeing hard working Mexican day workers who are extremely physically fit in the late 90s wearing T-shirts where it's obvious they have no clue what they are wearing either. When a buff dude with a thick mustache and beard is wearing a pink shirt that has "Daddy's Little Princess" stamped in calligraphy on the front of it. lol
