| Quite a improvement today, this one was up there with the best of S1. I like the animal girls, they bring a different kind of energy to the show. |

The first is her own insecurity. Rudeus clearly doesn't recognize her and, if nothing else, everyone still considers her to be a male. The second relates to Princess Ariel's lineage, which I'm not sure if the show has told us about yet, but it does affect her relationship with Rudeus. The third reason is likely a misunderstanding with who Rudeus came to the university with, who was basically a bombshell of a woman and a nympho (not by choice) to boot. Not to mention, Sylphie hasn't been in love before, so these feelings are all new to her. If you've never had a crush on someone or been sincerely in love, it's not easy to approach that person with intent to reveal your own feelings, especially if a lot of factors are already making even the slightest bit of honesty a nightmare already. This definitely felt like a bottle episode, though. I'm sure it was in the source material, so no real issue there. Still, I felt like there wasn't a ton of meat on this steak. Yea, it's pretty annoying that people who don't understand what happens in character's head wouldn't at last assume that "there has to be a reason for such behavior" or something like that instead of labeling it as plot hole or bad writing. Mushoku Tensei does not hamfist everything into audience's faces and leaves a lot to figure it out and interpret by ourselves by various hints and cues, which sadly bad actors label as plot holes. |

| What is this season lol it's starting to change my mind about the quality of this novel. Rudeus doesn't even show any care or restraint to sexually assaulting someone for goofy reasons now, interesting. I got to say in season one I was under the impression his Roxy obsession was more normal, just a man who really respected and loved his teacher and acted a bit goofy about it, something to lighten the mood but holy crap.... Rudy really dropped down quite a few pegs on respect for me this season, dude went from a bit of a weirdo I'm rooting for to become an respected adult to "Yeah still enjoying this show but I honestly wouldn't mind seeing him suffer again soon." I didn't realize he was more like Zanoba than a normal person... hell I feel sorry for that slave how the heck can she stand any chance to be normal with these goofballs grooming her. The slower pace giving the character room to breathe instead of focusing on adventure, growth, and world building might be a mistake, at least I'm not enjoying it as much. At this point I'm scared for Sylphy, she's such a great girl and it's just a matter of time before Rudeus ruins things for her in some ways, or maybe not since she worships him in her own Roxy like ways a bit in how highly she thinks of him. Should be interesting to see either way. |

| Rudeus reacted the way I'd imagine most people would if their most precious figurine of their favourite anime/game character was smashed to little fragments... Sweet, sweet revenge! XD The battle was short and the animation was excellent as Rudeus made quick work of the two beast girls, then tied the two up in his room as their punishment. It did lead to an unfortunate moment where they peed themselves when Rudeus came back to check on them with Fitz in tow. I was amused with the way Fitz punished the beast girl duo by painting on their faces and bluffing about making it permanent. It gave me a good laugh! I was really convinced that Fitz would finally reveal his identity to Rudeus, but sadly that didn't happen. Hopefully it won't be long before it does happen. Great and funny episode today! =) |

Efrath said: The thing is, I'd maybe buy into this. There's only one gigantic problem. His horrendous actions, morals and everything is played for laughs. The viewer doesn't watch this and think to themselves "man that was really messed up" and then get to see the journey of his self-improvement. The scene is played as a total joke and just go through the comments here and you'll see that people find it funny as shit. Which to be clear, I'm not saying is wrong. It's fiction, not reality. So if the author wants to make it a joke, they're allowed to and people can find it funny. But how are you going to make a story about improving these flaws, when you don't actually communicate to the viewer that these are flaws. In fact, the author even makes a point of having some of the characters be into his genuinely creepy behavior. Rudy is not meant to be a "Role model", it's a long, slow story about someone slowly improving and changing themselves over time in a world with completely different morals and world views. You can't exactly have your cake and eat it too. If these flaws are played for laughs, then the viewer isn't gonna take them seriously as a result. And if the viewer doesn't take them seriously, then his journey out of them will essentially be rendered meaningless. Although seeing the direction the story is going and seeing how people already in season 1 said that he had grown out of his creepy behavior and even now they're still saying it, despite what this episode showed us, I very much doubt the validity of the statement that he will grow out of it as the journey progresses. |

| With the title being what it was, I wasn’t expecting this to be such a hilarious episode lol. Raising Juliette as an apprentice seemed to be going well with her learning quickly and Zanoba actually treating her well, but the chillness came crashing down when Rudeus discovered what happened to his Roxy figure lol, that interrogation was damn funny. And then came getting revenge on the beast girls, not only did that scene look amazing but I also loved the comedy of it, Rudeus doesn’t play around when it comes to Roxy lol. And I’m ngl when Rudeus first tried feeling up the girls I thought this was going to go a way different direction, but thankfully that was just to test if his dick works yet and alas it does not, the rest of the punishment went hilariously tho, and then Sylphie got involved which made it even better lol. Interestingly tho, the beat girls seemed kinda chill about it afterward, I thought they’d be pissed af but I guess not, and speaking of them it was quite funny how Pursena kept throwing Linia under the bus lol. And after all the hilarity stopped, we got a nice moment between Rudeus and Sylphie in his room, she wasn’t allowed to see the holy relic tho lol, and she nearly took the glasses off but we were unfortunately blue balled, I’m sure it’ll happen eventually tho, I’m fine with waiting longer because I am enjoying their current dynamic where Rudeus thinks she’s Fitz. And ooooh boy, of course there are folks upset about what happened in this episode, I found it very funny myself but it’s always fun seeing what different ways this series can trigger people lol. |
