Shigurui - the scenarios and screenshots are too intensive, dark and disturbing way too sensitive for kid me, but now i'll watch it some day. Probably going to expect some another BAKI insanity or some really messed up junji ito stuff.

I've always wanted to watch Legend of the Galactic Heroes but it's too long and slow paced which prevents my enjoyment, so i've never actually watched it.

Hmmmm. Not to be pedantic, but I'm having trouble seeing how that anime is "highly rated" when it only has a score of 7.37.
If you reply back to me and I never respond, I lost interest and don't care. Sorry about that.

Your list is blocked, so if I only have your favorites to go by, but I would say it's probably not a good fit for you.

Same story.  Legend of the Galactic Heroes too long and too old for me. But many people say it's really good, so most likely in future i'll watch it.

Its age is really a positive for me what i dislike is its length and slowpacedness.

More doubtful/hesitant than scared but anyway

Fruits Basket (2019) - not interested enough

Gintama - long, possibly overrated (watched the 2005 special), ptw

Kaguya-sama - don't seem to be my type especially the humour

Ashita no Joe, Hajime no Ippo, Kingdom - long, ptw

More from the Gundam franchise because I loved the Origin but the other entries I've watched bored me to death (OG series and compilation movies, Witch from Mercury), so I don't know what to expect. I'll eventually pick it up again.

Gundams... already watched two unrelated series, the main line makes me anxious tho lol

The Fate series too, because it's such a big, intervoven franchise.
Feels like wanting to get into Marvel.

The issue with Shigurui is for me that I hardly can see in most scenes I discovered and the first two episodes until turning the screen very bright.
Comes across as an anime to me that takes itself bit too serious and thinks "super dark colors = super dark story".
Either that or it's a scene with this really cold light where... you also hardly can see anything lol... Yeah my eyes are shit.

I don't really have much left of high rated stuff to watch and I'll watch it all in time. It's just a matter of time until I get to it.

There's quite a few high rated ones I haven't watched yet. It's not that I'm scared, it's just that I think I need to be in the right mindset before watching it and life is taking too much free time away from me currently.

Maybe try sleeping?

I wouldn't say scared, but I guess I'm holding off on a few for later. There's a bunch where I'm like "I'm 90% sure I won't like it so there's no point to hurry checking it out".

Wouldn't call Victory Gundam "highly rated" but it's the only main UC Gundam entry I haven't watched, I think I won't be able to finish it.

And to everyone hesitating about LoGH, please do give it a try, the remake series is also pretty good if you can't stand the outdated visuals.

Gintama (2006) because it's such a commitment with 201 episodes. It's comedy / parody so it's hot or miss, especially because shounen demographic humor usually is not for me. Yet, it's so highly rated and I'm a list driven guy who wants to complete the MAL top 100. This is the largest ice berg still in the way of that.

It does hit hard in the final episodes.

He is concerned with mastering space: solving problem of life in and under trees, mastering what tools he can, mastering social relations in the jockeying for power and status. Deprived of this drive to development and self-increase he devolves to pointless masturbation, in captivity, where he senses he is in owned space and therefore the futility of all his efforts and all his actions."

Well, that's what I expected from any long running entry. I should try some shorter entries that don't require knowledge of stuff I skipped.

If you see it as a slice of life with quirky characters, it can be somewhat enjoyable even without finding it funny. I got tired of it after about 300 episodes, though.

Chainsaw Man! I’m just not sure I can handle the extreme level of gore. I watched Re:Zero and I was okay with that but that one’s not totally focused on the violence whereas Chainsaw Man is all about action and gore.

I really wanted to get into Fate Universe, but man there are countless spin-offs and the watch order is like completing an assignment. Starting something first will spoil another one. People recommend watching in release order, but I'm afraid of starting with not so critically acclaimed Fate 2006 adaptation by Studio Deen. Also, majority of the community have divided opinions over every Fate series except Zero including ruining character development of Shirou in UBW.

Code Geass because I am scared to admit that mecha is cool and I don't like sexy characters... The Tatami Galaxy because I don't like sexy characters... Gintama because it is too long and doesn't go through the story fast enough... One Piece because I am scared I would actually watch it then waste an entire year of my life.

Personally I liked it more than Zeta. Actually kinda surprised how low the rating is on MAL even for Gundam standards.

Wow, that's actually very promising, I really love Zeta so maybe Victory might work for me. Might try watching it later this year.

Yeah then again while sharing some opinions we diverge massively on others so I don't want to let you down lol. Zeta I felt kinda divided on though now I lean more positively towards it.

Basically I thought Uso was a bit less irritating than early Kamile though Kamile has more of a natural character progression. Still find him likeable though. Marvet is probably the best parental figure/military commander character even more than Bright. The side characters like Odelo might not be as good as Kai from 0079 but definitely better than anyone from ZZ  and fairly likeable. You also don't have anyone like Kaz (well there is one character but they become an enemy pretty quick). Antagonists are kinda generic authoritarians but largely solid even if they don't have anyone of Haman or Char's charisma. You do also have a fairly large active female cast listing I find for Gundam where they actually are doing things. (Tomino also did have a weird thing with the older girls in the show after Uso lol)

Again I think there are many Gundam series that do aspects everything Victory does better but in terms of all around being kinda solid yeah I think Victory is pretty good there. The main complaint I tend to see is usually that Tomino went kinda insane on the tragedy side of things and yeah this series has a large character body count. It can get a bit suffocating at some points but I still thought it was done largely okay.

I just think it's kinda a crime that it has a lower score on MAL compared to Stardust lol.  Though in short there is stuff that Zeta does much better but also much worse. So that is why I hold that opinion.

Still I literally was in your shoes put off watching Victory because I just assumed it was bad and campy (because of like one or two scenes most of the show takes itself pretty seriously). Right now I am doing a full watch of every major Gundam title with a friend so I finally saw it and yeah it's pretty good. Just a warning they had a weird watch order at the beginning because they wanted to get into the action quicker? So yeah like the first episode is actually like episode 3 or something and then they go back in time and explain how Uso got into that situation. Besides that Gundam as normal.

Well if it helps in getting you started the original show was just supposed to be it's own story. Stuff like War in the Pocket and MS Team you could watch totally standalone too.

Fate I agree with though it's more I need to make time and read a 90 hour VN.

Don't worry you were just pleb filtered. Go watch a youtube video on the subject and then maybe you'll understand

I had the exact same thoughts about LotGH for years, but kept it on my ptw list for 'one day in the future'. I finally picked it up and am nearing the end. I'll say that it's one of the best stories in fiction I've encountered, and not just in anime. The pacing is impeccable, it takes a couple of eps to get going but once it does it never stops, there's always plotting and/or action. It's not one of those shows you can stick on and relax, you have to pay attention to every scene, but it's been worth it for me. And yeah it's a long watch as I can't pay attention for longer than two or three eps per day, but usually just one. Just because LotGH is on the elitist banner, don't let that deter you and miss out on a brilliant story. I'd say give it 12 eps and you'll see whether you'll like it or not.
