| I'm saying this because Ichigo is 174 which is the perfect height someone should have in anime if you're a main character. Why would you even exist if you're below that? If those shorties are so short, why don't they just grow taller? (Yuuma from World Trigger doesn't count from obvious reasons). You may argue that I have Magi in favs but Aladdin is a kid, he grows taller after the timeskip till 167 at 15 years of age and of course we can expect him to be 174 at 18 unlike the other shorties who never grow.  |

| I'm an ignorant American so I struggle to think in centimeters. But in terms I can understand, I don't see anything wrong with protagonists being under 5'8", especially given that the Japanese average heights are less than Americans', and that a lot of characters are teenagers who haven't quite finished growing. |
| Not going to lie, this is an insanely stupid thread, because there's a lot of short protagonists and there are a lot of female protagonists too, some short some tall, so no. Protagonists can be whatever height the author makes them, height shouldn't dictate what you think about them. |

| I've never measured a character's hight. Beyond that, I struggle to imagine what 174 cm looks like. I can imagine 1 cm, but 174 of anything is overwhelming be it inches or train cars. It's simply "a lot." |

| So you're saying anyone lower than 5' 7" (that 174 cm in feet) should not be a protag? The normal height for a male protag is 165-173 cm (or in feet 5' 4" to 5' 6"). But It is your perference for the above normal height. Well for me as long the pro tag looks logcial notable than the sides (and maybe the villan if needed) height does not matter to me. |
