The official website for the television anime adaptation of Mitsuru Adachi's baseball-themed manga Mix announced on Saturday that a second season is in production.

The first season produced by OLM aired in 24 episodes in Spring 2019. Funimation simulcast the anime with both subtitles and an English dub.

The first season will also begin airing on Japanese streaming service TVer beginning Saturday, with episodes being added regularly throughout the month.

Monthly Gessan magazine began serializing Mix in May 2012 with Shogakukan publishing its collected volumes since October 2012. The 18th volume went on sale last December.

I don't really follow the manga or LN market, so decisions for choosing sequels look like absolute randomness to me.

I watched the 1st season, and it sure ended lol I liked the story, it was a good baseball story at the very least. They really built up the competition between the brothers, but it didn't really go anywhere. Hope they can do some more in the next season. I'm really surprised that it's getting one at all?? Hope Adachi's other work gets more popular and old anime is picked up by Crunchyroll or other streaming services (Touch, Slow Step, Cross Game)

Also love the article that previously came out that Adachi can't tell his character apart. Absolute icon.

Oh, that’s neat.

I still need to watch Touch, so I won’t be watching this anytime soon, but I’ll keep a look out for this.

Man, I'm already trying my hardest to make myself watch through the first season the anime, it's just so uninteresting compared to Touch.

I thought this anime would never get a sequel after that original-ish ending of the first season. I can't believe this. This is probably the second best anime announcement I heard this year after the Urusei Yatsura Remake announcement.

Lmao nice, announced like 2 weeks after I finished the first season. Glad that it’s getting another season, and more Adachi anime is always a good thing.

Just a heads up, you shouldn't expect anything the level of Touch from Mix. As the anime imo is just your plain average baseball manga anime adaptation, and never really goes beyond that. Though, it does pick up somewhat in the second half.

I enjoyed the first season quite a bit, so I’m glad to see this!

I should get around to watching Touch before this airs though.

I'm gonna be honest, I really wasn't a big fan of the first season, and given it sort of came and went in 2019, I absolutely didn't expect a second season. I'll give it another shot.

Any word about English licensors?

Not yet, but it's prolly going to be Crunchyroll again considering that the previous season was licensed by Funimation

Mitsuru Adachi verse is THE most popular baseball franchise in japan. arguably Major is the only one that slightly come close to it in TV viewer ratings.
