 The official Twitter account of the Jashin-chan Dropkick (Dropkick on my Devil!) anime series announced the production of a three-episode OVA following a successful crowdfunding campaign on Saturday.The campaign launched on November 30 and exceeded its initial 30 million yen (approximately US$234,567) goal within the first 35 minutes. The crowdfunding ended on Friday, raising over 115 million yen (approximately US$907,000). The production committee plans to apply for the Guinness World Record for raising the most money for an anime production. Yukiwo began publishing the supernatural comedy manga on Flex Comix's online magazine Comic Meteor in April 2012. The 20th volume shipped on December 12. The first season aired in 11 episodes in Summer 2018, with the 12th episode debuting on October 1 of that year. The second season premiered exclusively on Amazon's Prime Video platform on April 6. Crunchyroll also streamed the anime subsequently. | Man, I love how crowdfunding goals hardly ever fail in Japan. Personally never seen one but I'm sure there must be beyond my reach. Looking forward to this! I didn't think X was as good as the previous two seasons but it was still nice to watch nonetheless. |
