I already did and I was told that Studio Deen's Rick and Morty isn't allowed on MAL because the target audience isn't Japanese. This is the actual reason they gave me, and I have brought up this hypocrisy many times with the database staff and I get ignored every time. Yet The Animatrix, so many Marvel adaptions, the Halo OVAs, and now this shit is allowed. MAL has no standards at all.

There are several Asian animations that should be in MAL. Ladybug short by Toei Animation, The Witcher animated film by Studio Mir, DOTA: Dragon's Blood by Studio Mir...

Because, it is not targeted for Japanese audience, first of all, it isn't even Japanese Language. It's an English Animated series, so it isn't allowed in MAL.

You say that but MAL has already accepted chinese and korean produced series to be anime and even included a lot of em in the database. Sth like Cubix or Iron Kid shouldn't be on this site either, if that's the case.

Arcane doesn't have Japanese dub. Cyberpunk does have one and also animated by a Japanese company.

It’s a short made as a promo for a non-anime show, so it violates MAL’s third requirement on defining an anime (as someone linked above). Similarly, G1 Transformers isn’t in the database even though it was mostly animated by Toei; it was made for an American audience but later syndicated to Japan.

@adffeaf

Can you explain to me in detail why Cyberpunk, The Animatrix, Marvels works, and Halo specials are allowed on MAL? When these are all western productions that are outsourced to Japanese studios. All animated by Japanese studios but intended for western audiences. Studio Deen's Rick and Morty is no different.

And why are there 30 seconds CM ads and 3 minutes musical videos in the database? Please, MAL has up to the Chainsaw Maid data sheet.

The Rick and Morty anime takes place in Japan too. So by your own logic, Studio Deen's Rick and Morty was made for the "anime audience" and should also be on MAL.

Anime Database Guidlines
It's created by professional staff in Japan for the Japanese market

That Rick and Morty short was made for Adult Swim, not for the Japanese Market.
A good example would be He Wei Dao x Re:ZERO, which is not removed because it targets Japanese/Chinese audience.

Halo's origin is america and japan so it's available on MAL,, it's too simple to understand it's just like animation originates from japan is called anime and available on MAL. no further questions because you lack common sense...

- Rick & Morty: made for Adult Swim auadience which are americans, so not Japanese market. It's not available for Japanese/Chinese or Korean audience.
- Marvel anime: Produced by "Walt Disney Japan" x Madhouse and broadcasted in Animax Broadcast Japan Inc.
- Animatrix: Produced in Japan for Japanese and American audience
- Halo: Same as Animatrix, produced by Japanese studios for the japanese audience and English, dubbing and Soundtrack.

All you did was screencap the MAL page. You didn't make any point by doing so other than posting that the Halo anime is listed on MAL. Which we all already know. You have to be acting dense on purpose just to troll.

You already refuted your argument by saying Afro Samurai is anime and it obviously has Japanese dub. It's adapted from a doujinshi manga after all.

It doesn't have one. You can easily check it if you browse the cast for Afro Samurai on MAL. And source material doesn't matter at all.

Already name-calling? That's sad.

MAL isn't the only place to confirm what I said. Neither websites with full episodes nor Wikipedia have anything regarding the japanese dub. You must've confused Afro Samurai with a different anime.
