Wow not even a forced conclusion or anything. This axe is not surprising at all. Never really liked this that much so whatever.

This was very disappointing...the series had great potential with an interesting concept, fascinating world and characters but we don't even get to see what actually happens...it just ends on a cliffhanger and you gotta get the volume to find out anymore.

Wow... this got the axe so hard it didn't even finish the story. Could they really not let it run for one or two more chapters just to wrap it up?

It means the author is going to add more pages to the ending when the final volume releases

Well, let’s call it an “ending”

What a mess of a series. Started off as a promising series and then quickly tripped over itself

too bad for Shimabukuro, but the series was a huge mess from the moment when he introduced the power system and on. Better luck next time I guess. There will be additional content in the volume release (a proper epilogue maybe)

It was basically too much like Toriko. He just switched food for building.

Personally, the series started bad, became funny once we got to the vampire castle, then the exam was funny, but with a mess of a power system.

Shimabukuro didn't deserve all the hate tho, with the amount of people that hated on him and the manga without even reading it, it feels like a weird and somewhat unfair axe.

It had potential for massive worldbuilding like Toriko but it felt much more childish in general. I think Shimabukuro was sick of people complaining to him about the censorship on the Toriko anime and wanted his new series to be more family-friendly.

This is sad. Build King was the only decent manga left in Shonen Jump besides One Piece. All the other new series are trash. Too bad sales have nothing to do with quality.

What about Sakamoto Days? I think it's quiet interesting though I do enjoy a good shonen.

The final 5 volume only chapters were just scanlated today. I'm not sure when Viz/Manga Plus will get to them officially though.

Thank you so much!!!! I thoroughly enjoyed reading them.😊 It makes me miss Toriko and Shima in the magazine, but I can only hope he someday comes back with a stronger protagonist and a little better pacing. Let’s hope!

No problem! I was waiting for the ending all this time too so I thought I'd come back and let you know lol. I'm definitely feeling Build King's lost now though.

I can understand why it got cut short. It's super expository and it got too difficult to keep track of all the information back to back. But at the same time I'll really miss it!

Build King was such a unique and novel idea for a manga. Seeing all those double spreads was amazing and I would've loved to spend more time in this world. Shima's also fantastic at imbuing his work with raw feelings and I felt emotional reading some of it like 2 by 4's flashback. If some things were different, I could see it surpassing Toriko for me.

And then reading his author comments tore my heart out. I can't even imagine 4 and a half years of preparing for serialization down the drain in 6 months ;-;

I'm really rooting for Shima and I hope he's able to come back with another hit! If not Shonen Jump, then any magazine!
