| I tend to avoid really sad stuff but anyway: Anime One piece flashbacks are sad af stories (also One Piece movie 6) SA + FS arcs in Gintama back to back was deadly to my feels Grave of the fireflies - this one I only watched a clip for but it was already very sad Manga To You the Immortal was very sad (chapter 1 made me bawl - same author as silent voice) Oyasumi punpun - haven't finished this one yet but depressing Watashitachi no Shiawase no Jikan -sad Saiyuki Gaiden, painful prequel even tho the main story in the sequel isn't as sad |

| Clannad Afterstory was very painful especially from ep 16-18. Including manga, nothing can come close to Oyasumi Punpun imo. Reading it slowly spin into a grimmer and grimmer coming of age left me with feelings of utter despair. Unlike Afterstory, it gets depressing and doesn't stop for a second. Even its happier chapters are incredibly ominous and melancholic. |

It's really dark and touches on a lot of mental health issues. in the manga, it contains a lot of drug use, but you can see how it directly correlates with the anime. I'd definitely watch it soon. |
